Our tour will take us through the Okanagan and Thompson country, and then into the canyons and valleys that feed into the Frasier river before crossing Lilooet range and arriving at the logging community of Tipella.     Departing Penticton, the route turns west towards Princeton which require a steep climb to get above the Okanagan-Thompson Plateau.  Continue west until you see the Similkanmeen river valley which you can follow to reach the first stop at Princeton CYDC.  From Princeton the route proceeds north 40nm across the Thompson Plateau to Merritt CAD5.  From Merritt the route continues north 37nm across the Thompson country to Kamloops CYKA.  Departing Kamloops we follow Thompson Lake and the Thompson River to Cache Creek CAZ5.  Departing Cache Creek CAZ5, fly approximately 34nm down the Thompson River as the valley narrows down to a canyon to Lytton and attempt to land on the short airstrip on the hill above the final curve in the river before the town of Lytton.  Good Luck.  After successful taking off from the rough short airstrip at Lytton, proceed down the Frasier River approximately 15nm and turn right into a very large valley. This is the Nahatlatch river valley. Follow the valley, passing multiple lakes approximately 22nm (ignoring several large side canyons) until reaching the imposing mountain (Mt Mason) at the very head of the valley which has narrowed to a canyon.  Where the canyon splits, take the right fork and climb up to the gap and cross into another canyon descending to the south.  Follow this canyon down to Upper Harrison Lake and land at Tipella CBB7.

Because this is a relatively long leg I recommend that you chose an aircraft that is reasonably fast (150+knts) but able to get in/out of small airstrips.

I will be flying the Caranado F33 Bonaza in "Blue & White" This very nice paint is one of several in Butch’s Carenado Bonanza HD Redux set and available here.

Just a reminder, please take your "current" (title=) name of the aircraft you will be flying today from the aircraft.cfg and use the spreadsheet to enter it.

$20 bucks!! :LMAO:

The "Dawn Patrol" was out! Did a shuttle flight from KDLS to CYYF while enjoying freshly brewed mud and catching up on some pre-dawn work.

Jeff - It seems you forgot to add the .pln to the download .zip. (At least I didn't see it)  While on the flight I created a rather "verbose" (referring to narrative) flight plan in both Plan-G and FSX .pln formats. One may get it here.

Have a groovy day!

My day just got "GROOVIER" !!!  Just got a call ! Going to a $100 hamburger social in N3288A, a 1954 Cessna 170B based at 9WS2 heading to KRRL.

A few things to clarify.

1: What IS that aircraft you're using?

2: Where can I get it?

3: You're sure getting your share of 'jollies' lately. The C170B trip sounds terrific (clarification not required, just saying, is all)

4: I shall be flying this tomorrow:

Ron,

1. Spartan Executive

2. The proxy on the spreadsheet is basically a fully fixed FS9 version, ready to fly with only my repaint . You can get it at Sim Out House - Here or Here. Milton's originals (unmolested) w/ fixes are at Garry J. Smith's site, see the FAQs for the fixes I conglomerated. The reason for the proxy is explained in the readme of the proxy download.

3. It was excellent! My first stick time ~ 1 hour, w/ hints, tips and tricks. Prior to returning he (owner) performed some mild aerobatics, chandelles & cuban eights at 30, 45 & 60 degree angles and a couple of stalls & G pulls. At the end he said he was trying to scare me - cool as can be. Sucked all that information in like a sponge, with a huge grin. More on COMM tomorrow.  B)

4. Cya there in the 208.

A real good showing. :-)

Sometimes... There just isn't enough room. (Forrest Gump)
Screen_08302014_143053.jpg

Grasshopper. Take the path well worn. NO! Back taxiing.
Screen_08302014_143249.jpg

Oh.. Did the tower say you were cleared for take-off? Not until you'all say the magic word. CHEESE :-)
Screen_08302014_145625.jpg

Should I follow these guys? All of em trouble makers, or...
Screen_08302014_151754.jpg

This guy?
Screen_08302014_151800.jpg

Ron was heard over UNICOM saying he heard thunder. I saw this. A cool sheet of rain.
Screen_08302014_151845.jpg

Just a bit too high for the "duty free" passage of the bridge.. I'll leave the cash in the "drop" box.
Screen_08302014_152752.jpg

We finally learned how to be civilized. In parking that is.
Screen_08302014_154053.jpg

Ron coming in on 33 (CAZ5) Cache Creek while Jock is following procedures by taking "the" path. One, Two, Three, Four.. Four is the magic number. :-)
Screen_08302014_154304.jpg

There will be no "toll" here.
Screen_08302014_155919.jpg

Sooo many bridges, what shall we do?
Screen_08302014_162140.jpg

Just "follow the yellow brick road".
Screen_08302014_163008.jpg

Hmm... 3 options. Go straight = NOT GOOD. Right seems like the wrong direction. Left looks good, follow that little Cessna.
Screen_08302014_163443.jpg

Just purdy.
Screen_08302014_163907.jpg

Tagging behind either Jock or Mike.
Screen_08302014_164024.jpg

That is Jock, banking back towards the river.
Screen_08302014_164115.jpg

Again, just one of those purdy pics.
Screen_08302014_164407.jpg

May I park here?
Screen_08302014_165305.jpg

I guess the answer was yes. At least the dog, butterflys and squirrel said so.
Screen_08302014_165447.jpg

The after flight "meeting of the minds" conviened. Subject? Multiplayer Flooding. Test where performed including my project. Loaded up the F-111 and proceded to go for the modes that would trip up a flood.. All good. Heading back to Penticton (CYYF) from Vancouver (CYVR), where the tests were performed, at M1.25 @ 30Kft. The last inkling of light fading away.

I don't know which I enjoy more, the flight or your pictorial essays. Keep it up Roman. :good:

Incidentally, the Homer Simpson quote I was desperately trying to remember was:
