I could be interested in going into the X99 platform in my next build.

One question; Provided the same RAM Frequency and Cas-Latency, does 4-channel memory in DDR4 deliver twice as fast data delivery relative to DDR3 2-channel?

Theoretically, yes. However, FSX scales well with speed but it doesn't scale well with more then 2 channels. So 4 channels @ half the speed of 2 channels performs worse. Going from single to dual channel does give a good boost in FSX though.

Hmm, still split with myself which way to go: Haswell, Haswell-E or Broadwell.. And Nvidia GTX8xx.

 

2014 seems to be an exiting year hardware wise.
