What do you get when you mix a September morn, P3D, and ASN...this..

Recommended Posts

I am so blown away by the sheer beauty of P3D v2.3's Volumetric Fog, HDR....you can 'feel' the heat of the sunlight coming into the cockpit, with the so subtle changes in hue, and intensity of HDR on-the-fly, and the true-to-life fog banks, that show themselves around the Great Lakes on early September mornings...is so well depicted...that well....deny me food or water, before my daily usage of P3D to set the mind....

....GAWD...I love this.....

...and then heading up to Mackinac Island....for some virtual Fall bicycling, and lake-shore walking....life....is good, even in the virtual.....

Closer to Mackinac Island, weather at 08:51 EST, starting to close in....thunder in the headpones.....went through a rain shower ten minutes ago...  (sipping coffee at an accelerated rate....)

Wow, that is a very impressive shot. The haze/fog looks so real.. and I know what you mean how the HDR interacts with the environment, weather, time of day. Every flight is a unique experience and not knowing what weather you will get makes all the more exciting.

Would love to see more shots pls :)

How cool!

I see the Skymaster (I assume it's the Carenado version) showing up in a lot of sim shots. Great plane, isn't it? Fits my style of flying - can go far in a short time and plenty of visibility with that high wing.

Hi Mitch,

nice shots, thanks for sharing but all of them would be much nicer without the red lines in the upper left corner. <shift>+z is your friend.

Hey there, Spirit.  I do that actually, quite intentionally....that information, gives some interpretation of the shot,  altitude, speed, FPS, Lat, Long, in case someone wants to duplicate the x/y coordinates.

I find it interesting when others also show that information, in that I can see the elements/complexity of the shot...and see what FPS performance and general graphical generation, their system is giving them.  So..that was the verbose answer, lol

Cheers!

Exactly...exactly, well pointed out, and yes, it is the Carenado P3D and/or FSX version.  I will open the door to this cockpit, usually before any others....  It is such a great plane, with excellent performance (if turbo'ed), excellent handling, and great VFR viewing. This is my favorite sled....

You bet!  With P3D, I'm a fish being reeled in...lol.   More shots, look above, you got it!   Cheers!

This shot really demonstrates that the fog truly plays out as volumetric!  Look to the left of the shot, behind the wing strut, and see that the fog is much denser, closer to the aircraft, and then as you pan your eyes towards the front of the aircraft, you can see depth into the fog, and wave action, until you look out to infinity, and the viewpoint totally obscures the coast that is there....the west shore of Lake Huron--------------towards the Straits of Mackinaw....
