September 25, 201411 yr Thanks for all the tips about the loading etc. I've been fooling around with it a little and posted about it on the Airbus forum: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/85586-a318-cfm-pfpx-profile/ Maybe someone could have a look to see if I am on the right track. ^_^ One thing I discovered is that it's easier to not use the Airbus fuel planner at all but enter the date, straight from the OFP, into the right MCDU yourself.

Don't feel bad about having to figure things out. It took me 2 flights to have an "aha" moment and see that I have to turn the knob to see the ground terrain Phil Long
September 26, 201411 yr Yes it's not ZFW I posted that half drunk on holiday ATM but with PFPX to set up an empty aircraft as a starting point is still correct way. Wiegh is weight. It's the only way you have a true weight of just the aircaft as a starting point, Back to the sun..... David Murden. September 27, 201411 yr Is there already any A319 IAE profile for PFPX? They burn much more fuel than the CFM engine so we cant rely on the existing cfm template. David Benjamin
September 27, 201411 yr That's not correct. An empty aircrafts weight with nothing on board, is referred to as BOW or DOW; Basic or Dry Operating Weight. Jereon, you need to make sure these match in PFPX and your flightsim. i) Open the Airbus Fuel Planner and set the pax & cargo to your pref. I usually choose middle weight loading. ii) Open FSim, and note the basic weight and payload. iii) Add together equals ZFW. iv) Open PFPX, Aircraft Database. Select your aircraft then 'EDIT'. v) Check the BOW matches with FSim. When you build a flight, instead of worrying about pax & cargo settings, just enter your calculated ZFW into the ZFW box of each of your flights. I wonder why they show TO weight and not zfw in the load thing in mcdu2....
September 27, 201411 yr TO weight is the weight that is predicted after the use of APU and taxi, for V speeds, it's in the big scream of the overall weight very small but it well might change V speeds when taxiing at huge airports. TOW is the best source of take off speeds David Murden. Take a look at this - its for the A320 but gives a good insight into sfc etc for the different types of engines offered on the A320 family. http://www.team.aero/images/aviation_data_insert/Owners_OperatorsGuide_A320.pdf
