Aerosoft Airbus 318/319 to be released a week from now

Featured Replies

Hi all, I posted the following on Aerosoft and abrubtly got "it isn't related to a A318-319 problem" so I will try here:

Using the new (with hotfix) A318-A319, as soon as I load Active Sky weather OR Opus weather, I get a very foggy environment (see attached). This does not happen with the A320-A321.

With weather addons:

With default weather:

Any ideas?

I too at first suspected that, so I reverted to an older 340 Nvidia driver after having just updated to 344, and I get the same font issue. So, that in effect rules out a driver issue.

Are you sure you aren't running with high-res VC unchecked ?

That's what it looks like when you do, anyway.

I'm a bit lost with that question, Brian. Where do I find this high-res VC check-box? I've looked in the Configurator, and cannot see what you are referring to in there.

EDIT: Thanks for the heads-up, Brian. Resolved..............now, if I could only get that yo-yoing up and down whilst in cruise...........

I got the upgrade 318

However, I was expecting independent range/selector controls on the MCDU s like the PMDG 737 has so I feel had.

What airplane on Earth has simultaneous controls for pilot/co-pilot for the range of the2  nav map displays??

not happy here

Its essentially the same as the old AXE except I am constantly told I am passing through 2500 if I set 2500 as my AGAlt

Mostly caused by AI traffic or bad afcad.

Happened at the exact same part of the taxiway each time so unlikely AI and it only seems to happen on this plane

did anybody try changing the sim rate. I had no luck with 4x which makes the plane go mad. I know it's because of fbw and low fps but couldn't it be cured ) because if this is going to be the base of the futur aerosoft a330 we will need it to handle sim rates of 4x or 8x. (don't want to start a debate about not using sim rate because it's or it's not realistic. I do use it with pmdg 777 and some others do as well)

Not sure why its happening to you but working fine for me (On SP1 Beta 4 at the moment - not upgraded to 5 yet)

That's the cause, Rick.

Thanks Oliver.

Resolved and now with my 2nd flight BA 318-114 and what a difference to first flight. Clear graphics, fonts, ND Plan, now very much getting joys from it. Just need GSX patching up to it.

Aerosoft is using physics calculation per frame, and not per unit of time, so it's very sensitive for sim rate. I don't know what is p3d default physics model or for FSX, but this approach is very unusual for simulations. Calculations per unit of time are not sensitive for slow framerate, unlike the opposite. So if you have, let's say 30fps, at x4 rate it's similar to 7fps, so physic model don't have time to make necessary corrections. So, at least with Airbus, you're out of luck, unless you can maintain 100fps at normal rate, which will give you similar to decent 25fps at x4 rate.

Just completed a 4 hour flight in the A319 from Dublin to Moscow Domodedovo, most of the cruise of which was in 4x simulation rate.  No issues at all (and did not have to deactivate FBW).     As you say, if your frame rates are too low, simulation rate can mess up.    My average FPS were about 26, so not bad but not mega high.

Well as above, I've just used 4x time acceleration with no issues whatsoever (smooth banks and turns etc and no loss of altitude), and I certainly did not have 100 FPS!

With my old GPU I had 14fps average and with x4 sim rate ( or x8 I don't remember correctly ), AXE in autopilot in level flight got out of control and crashed. Maybe I overestimated needed fps, but since I bought new GPU I didn't try this again. But, there might be a possibility that Aerosoft changed physics model. I know that for AXE they have per frame model.

Sorry, I meant the EFIS on either side is linked and not independent

Yes, a pity. Unlike the Boeing EFIS. Maybe it is not modelled like that in a real Airbus? Would be nice to hear from ramp guys/RW aircrew on this.
