Confused: FSGlobal, FTX Global, FTX Vector, FSGlobal Ultimate...?

Recommended Posts

I need some guidance and orientation on how to procede here.

In my newly set up FSX (just moved from FS9) I want to have the following:

-. improved ground textures

- correct coast lines, lakes, etc

- fantastic mesh especially for mountain regions (Alps, Rockies, Andes, Himalaya)

- adding "landmarks" like harbours, famous buildings, etc.

I have looked through several webpages by FTX, Pilots!, Flight 1. And I am confused about which one to buy.

Is the following correct:

- FTX Global for ground textures?

- FTX Vector for coast lines, etc?

- FS Global Ultimate for mesh?

- Flight 1 Ultimate Terrain for landmarks?

But then what do the following products add:

- FTX Open LC Europe?

- FTX Terrain Regions?

Thank you for any help in chosing the right products and indicating if they are compatible.

Thanks!

Orbx is great , I have all that. If you spend most of your time flying at higher altitudes, you might want to consider Mega Earth also.

Not exactly. You need to choose either Ultimate Terrain X OR FTX Vector. They do the same job and will conflict if you use them together. Keep in mind that UTX is not compatible with P3D (if you decide to move to it at some point).

I have read that there could be some minor elevation problems with FS Global Ultimate version. FTX is made to be compatible with FS Global 2010.

But then what do the following products add:

- FTX Terrain Regions?

You can go that way. To get Open LC working you need at least FTX Global.

However, you can start at the beginning with FTX Terrain Regions, as well. You don't need any of other addons if you buy them alone.

Hope that helps.
