Grib data decoder problem

Recommended Posts

Bonjour,

I am learning.... :smile:  So I certainly did something wrong.

As I noticed that after a certain altitude, (lower atmosphere I suppose) I do not have any wind information (PMDG 737NGX), I suspected something wrong with the grib decoder.

I found in C:\FSIDECODER.log.... I am not sure if it is the good log as it is not mentioned in the doc.

OpusFSI GRIB Data Decoder, Version 4.01

Log generated 26 september 2014, 15:26 Hrs

1 Errors Detected

Invalid Operation

FYI: The dot is configured as decimal separator in window.

Any idea ?

Best regards

Claude

The 'Invalid Operatiin' error means your FSIDECODER.exe program is not compatible with the version of your FSISERVER.exe program, so please check your installation in your c:\OpusFSI folder.

You could check and post the contents of your c:\OpusFSI\FSISERVER.log file which will show any obvious discrepancies.

Strange...  as I installed the package with the official installer "OpusFSI_Flight1_Purchase.exe"

Anyway I do not see anything wrong in the server log...

Everything looks perfectly fine in that log. Can you double check you are running the FSISERVER program from within its c:\OpusFSI folder and try checking over all your Weather dialogs, enter a Max Cruise Altitude > 6000 feet and generate the weather again. Check with the Spy window open and once again check your c:\OpusFSI\FSIDECODER.log again. Let me know what happens.

OK. You should now try deleting the contents of your GRIB folder with exception to the Degrib.exe program, then try again. I will double check all is OK at this end, but there re no reported problems. I assume you got the same Invalid Operation error in the FSIDECODER.log file.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Merci Cheryl..

In french we says "Je ne veux pas mourir idiot" which I translate by "I do not want to die idiot"

So I am interested to know what was the reason, and why just me ! :smile:

Hi Claude,

Could you please download and install the current OpusFSI Beta software, make sure you uninstall your current OpusFSI using the Windows Uninstall Programs after downloading the new msi file. Please confirm that the problem has been corrected so I can update the release version this weekend.

Regards

Stephen :-)

The GRIB data are now here, and decoded.... :smile:  and present on the client side.

Just a small thing: The return to main menu is not displayed in the lower and upper atmosphere report.

Thank you for your reactivity.... Impressive !

Best regards

Claude
