I realize now why I gave up for awhile.

Recommended Posts

I want to fly, but first in order to do that I've got to keep FSX from going haywire, which apparently takes 2 hours, and I haven't even backed out of the gate. This game sure has a lot of headaches.

Sorry to hear that...

I did a 12hr flight KLAX - PHNL in the A2A B-17G a few days ago.  Doing another atm from Boeing Field to MacDill AFB - 5+ hrs into that flight.

Load the fuel, do a run-up and go...

There's some specificity for you Ryan. Any advice regarding the blowing up of control surfaces?  I'm completely tapped out on that one...

Well you can't do a run up and go... if you'r controll surfaces have blown up, and you have to REDO THEM ALL.

Do you mean that your control assignments for your hardware (yoke, rudder pedals, etc.) get corrupted, so that you have to go into the FSX setup menu to reassign and/or recalibrate them every time you try to fly?

If so, the next question is: are you running Windows 8 or 8.1? The reason I ask is that this problem seems to affect a lot of users running Win 8 with FSX....

I for one with Windows 8.1. I either loose My Controls including throttle before I take off or after I dis-engage Auto - Pilot while on final . Usually triggered by FSInn , Active Sky Next, Plan G ,etc. Energy saver for the USB Ports  have been turned off. Don't know what else to do.

I don't use Windows 8 (or 8.1)

But I have heard around the place that using a registered (paid) version of FSUICP to assign all axis assignments works well.

And although not required in Windows 7, still leaves one with more flexibility in assignments.
