Is this computer good for fsx with performance hungry addons?

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

I was just wondering if this computer would be good for fsx...

i5-750 @ 3.2 GHz (Turbo boost on)

8 GB DDR3-1333

1 TB HD

160 GB HD

ATI Radeon HD 5450 @1 GB DDR3

Windows 7 on 1 TB

Windows XP on 160

300 W power supply.

OK for basic GA flight.. but marginal if you start adding payware addons..

Nowadays, a 4 GHz i5 or i7 is really what you should be looking for.

Bert is right, you'll be able to run basic default FSX, but that processor isn't going to be able to handle any toppings. Even the default G1000 is going to be a close call for a playable fps.

An i5-680 would fit in that socket and be a sizeable upgrade. about a 35% increase.

Don't expect any toppings out of the video card either.

You don't want to add any "add-ons" to that system

The computer is going to run it roughly 10% better than my 8350 paired with a 760. If you are looking to get this computer for fsx and its a good price, get it. A $600 build new can outperform this

I'd value this as a fsx computer at about $500 new
