GTN 750 in PC-12

Recommended Posts

Here is a link to Flight 1 website where I posted pictures of my GTN 750 mod. I did not figure how to add the pictures on this forum. It is far from perfect but it works and pops up.

That's a private forum so, can't be seen by folks that don't have it yet.

Simple way...you can upload the pictures to some image site like imgur.com and then link them here with the picture icon.

Thanks Gregg,

I had forgotten about the private forum. I will try to learn posting pics to this forum.

Hello,

Is this in FSX or P3d?

My concern with buying the pc12 was the lack of support for GTN750, but this may push me over the edge!!

Thanks,

B.

DeskPilot518,

This is FSX, but I see no reason it would not work in P3d. Both the PC-12 and GTN will work in both and it is just a gauge change.

It is not perfect. Carenado would have to do that but it works and you can pop the gauges up.

Enjoy,

Greg

Unfortunately, they do not in this mod. The remaining frame is for the 530. I re-positioned the GTN 750 displays to fit inside the 530 frames.( thanks to Bert for the idea) If click on the face of the 530 frame just above the left tuning knob, the GTN 750 will pop up and you can interface with it. Best I can do until Carenado maked a change in the panel model mapping.

I use this mod for p3d - works quite well.

I had to manually am run the config to have the lower 750 become nav2/comm2 but otherwise just click the sidebar to popup the gauges.

I'd really like to know this too. I'm leaning toward buying the GTN 750 but I'm concerned about the performance. PC12 is already heavy on fps and I can stand it gets even worse..

Someone mentioned that GTN 750 runs outside P3D and it may actually improves the fps. Hope that is true.

I don't know if anybody is still interested, but I purchased the GTN750 today and tested the fps impact. When replacing the default GPS with the GTN750 (using the above mod) then is has absolutely no fps impact. I compared it like for like (using the same scenerio) to the default GPS and it really has no impact at all. Amazing! Only when you pop up the 2D panel then fps drop by 2-3 fps which is rather insignificant. This unit is really amazing. And with the above mentioned mod you can even use the touch screen in the VC without having to pop up the 2D panel.
