Trying to get "real" traffic, but don't know where to start...

Recommended Posts

Goal is simple:Get some AI traffic that looks like RW airplane paints (Delta, NWA, SWA, etc...) and make it so the Air traffic calls them by their names over the radio...I don't want to impact framerates... Default planes are fine as long as I can tell it's a Delta plane, etc...They don't have to be flying RW schedules thought that would be a small plus...Looking for a FREEWARE solution. What's the best available that meets the requirements above?I'm a noob; please help.

Project AI is supposed to be good. I don't have it because I've got Ultimate Traffic, which is patware $30. Very good addon!!!If it's freeware you want check out project AI.http://www.projectai.com/Suds

yep project ai is great, the only thing it costs you is the amount of time you spend clicking on each airline you want to download, if its all of them, quite awhile assuming you have broadband. ;-)Andrew

Looks like I probably won't go the AFCAD route to increase traffic but who knows... :) Looks addicting. How about UT? What kind of framerate hit can one expect?

Since you say you don't want to impact performance (your rig can definately handle it! LOL), then UT probably isn't for you as it includes all airlines and increased traffic to simulate real world traffic. the more aircraft you have flying in your vicinity, the more polys that have to be rendered. your best bet in install the major airlines from PAI and leave the AFCADS alone, also delete the default traffic with the PAI file for that. It's addictive though, I run UT, a few PAI files, GA traffic from the GA Traffic Generator program, my own VA traffic, helicopter AI and bizjet AI. SET AT 100% FOR SPOTTING, 50% FOR FLYING! lolRegards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

The best AI planes available are usually accepted to be Aardvark http://www.ai-aardvark.com/For Airbuses try ARNZ http://arnz.myhost.co.nz/ (people will tell you to use FS Painter, but they are harder to find)Accurate real-airline flightplans and an installer and are available at MRAI http://www.mostrealisticai.com/main.phpFor GA planes try http://81.208.92.5/dee_cp/fs_projects/index.html but flight plans for these are a bit harder to come by.

Oh, sorry, and to make sure you get real callsigns on ATC, search in the forum for Editvoicepack

UT is basically a very updated form of Project AI. An AFCAD only increases the amount of parking spots... it really doesn't change how many flights to or from an airport. It just changes how many can actually park there. :)http://darkstarorder.com/sigs/Batman/SigFinal.jpgKen Weik [link:maam.org|MAAM-SIM][link:library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=root&SearchTerm=kenneth+weik&Sort=Added&ScanMode=0&Go=Change+View]My AFCADs
