New version ( v1.1 ) of the XView plugin available...

Recommended Posts

For those of you lucky PSX users, the author of the XView plugin, just posted the following at the Aerowinx Forums:

"I have uploaded Version 1.1 of XView at the same web address but in a separate directory.

The new features include:
- weather updating in XView better reflects settings in PSX
- options to turn off updating of weather, time and comms
- all options available from settings window and XView.cfg
- all options saved to XView.cfg

If you run XView/X-Plane once and close it, XView will update your XView.cfg file to include the new parameters."

Just tested XView 1.1 with a visual approach to Kathmandu, and it feels even smoother than before :-)

I only miss the white patches over the mountains :-/

I really like XView just a few small points:

Is the weather change now more smooth, no cloud popping in and out?

Also on the ground the pivot point seems incorrect, not around the main gear. Is this corrected?

Marcel,

I'm tempted to say Yes to both your questions, because I have had good visual feedback from taxiing after my landing at VNKT,  and on a short hop between LPPT and LEMD I did not notice the cloud pop in / out

Anyway, none of this particular issues are listed in the release notes, and clouds popping in / out is also a native XP10 problem, AFAIK ( ? )

I keep finding 1.1 smoother than the already very acceptably smooth previous version.

PSX is getting pretty tempting...have....to....resist.....

I know... been there, done that, for a couple of days :-/.... Heck, my simmer life is a lot more interesting now, and that's what matters :-)

Marcel,

discard... :-/  It still pops in / out of view when the weather is fed by PSX :-/

I am now experimenting with online RWW in X-plane10. Sorry :-/

Jose´,

No it's ok, these are only minor issues which i'm sure will be ironed out in the future.

Tonight i'm going to try out Xview 1,1 as well as the new Prepar3D 2,4 with visualFSX.
