AC Bus Switches

Recommended Posts

The AC Bus Switches have 3 modes: ON, OFF and TRANSFER.

Can anyone tell me in which situation I need which mode?

Is it correct to turn both AC Bus Switches to ON as soon as both engines are running and both generators a ON?

I would be happy on any information you can give me von the AC Bus and it's switches.

You are correct about the function of the On/OFF switches...These basically work as advertised and one energizes ( ON ) the appropriate AC BUS tie and the other denergizes ( OFF ). Transfer would be used if the L or R AC bus were to go offline ( unpowered ) by using transfer it ties both Buses onto one power source...If you have a short that disconnected the BUS then you might want to look at the ammeter if you time and check your VOLTS and AMPS...The bad thing about blowing both AC busses is you no longer have EFIS tubes and youre flying on the peanut ADI the RMI
