No more shimmering! Anyone else tried this in Nvidia control panel?

Wow, thank you! How did you find that ?

I got it from GeForce forum. Happy it works for you too.

Ok. eager to try it out. But,...none of the settings work for longer than one second, after that FSX starts to switch between the two resolutions (FSX itself is gone to the taskbar and I have to ctrl-alt-del to get out of the sim)

I'll have to investigate some more.

I have a TH2GO digital, GTX 780 and the latest NVIDIA driver, 344.48.  In the NVIDIA control panel there's the option DSR, but no way to change it from off, there are no other options. What could be the cause ? I just installed the driver, none of the extra NVIDIA goodies, could that be it ?

I didn't use the new 344.48 driver. I used the modded 344.24 driver.

From memory DSR needs the nvidia GeForce Experence software to be installed.

Well, it works without Geforce Experience but as I said, not longer than 1 second.

Was reading a post on the P3D official forum about improving visual quality by changing settings in the Nvidia Control Panel Prepar3D profile.

Original post here:

Basically in the Nvidia control panel "Prepar3D profile" you force anisotropic filtering to 16x, then switch Antialiasing ON (I used 4x). You then switch FXAA OFF in the P3D sim graphics settings.

This has got rid of all my shimmering and any blurries! P3D scenery looks fantastic. Payback is a slight drop in FPS but I haven't noticed any significant stutters or pauses yet.

Hope this helps

Adam

Heya Adam I'm having the shimmering effect too, doesnt seem to matter what I do, I tried your plan but still shimmering. I know you said to switch off FXAA in game but what about the MSAA settings amongst the rest?
