DSR - WOW - Must See

Recommended Posts

Flightsim never looked or performed so good, I am really happy with this tweak like a new sim - so smooth and looks killer - go for it - I'm glad I did

Keep in mind this is P3D V2.4 - have no idea how FSX is going to do with this tweak

Link to how to make this work - Enjoy - http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/85724-dsr-for-kepler-now-working/#entry784158

Gorgeous shot, Rich!!! Quick question... I have an i7-3770K @ 4.7GHz, 8GB 2400MHz RAM and a GTX680+ 4GB OC'ed to 1.29GHz. Currenty running latest nVidia drivers with P3D 2.4.

Can I implement this tweak?

PS. My monitor is a 46" Samsung LED @ 1920x1080...

Sweet! As soon as I land my current flightt, I will guve this a shot.

not sure it works on tv's yet looking around, be careful did read your tv has to support the new resolution - use at own risk without looking into it

For all the good things, I have found a few bad things also. It does look and perform well but mine seems to have terrible tearing.

Let me clarify something just noticed that there is an option in your resolutions settings added by the inf I would assume you pick DSR higher resolution - I did not do that as it gets blurry - I just leave it at native resolution in my case 2560 x 1440 - probably not what is intended but not knowing this - I have had great success by just turning on 1.20x (native resolution and left smoothness to 33% - huge difference as stated above - so anyone worrying about blowing up Their monitor just try this as it will remain in native resolution - may not be correct but its doing something very good

Good stuff, Rich...will try it...for sure!

Thanks for sharing!

Post Edit...found them in Global, and not in the individual game settings....ah...thanks...it works!   So, the two DSR settings in GLOBAL, it should work on anything you throw at it, right?  Wow....

Great tip...thanks for sharing, again, Rich..and to the O.P. on the OBRX forum...what a great find.  I see that this is going to be doled out to everybody...soon. I wonder why it was only put out to notebooks at this time...weird.

Post edit 2:  Ok...have it set for 1.50 native...and 10 percent on smoothness...let's see what this baby can do in P3D!

Will post a shot later....

Post Edit 3:

Ok..Rich, here's my shot out of KFNT, just east of I-75 at Dawn  (DSR setting of 1.50 native/Smoothness at 10 %)     Rich, do you see any difference between any other shots of mine PRIOR to this one?  Let me know...what do you think?  I want to be careful of the Placebo effect....before I comment.  This is P3D v2.4   Does it look better to you than my shots taken with my regular driver for a GTX680, the 342.11?  Thanks....

Detroit Skyline viewed on the Detroit River...Dawn...settings 3.0 native and 33 percent Smoothness:

Same area, inside cockpit, same DSR settings as above:

Rich, please also shoot a downward ground shot so i can compare ground textures with yours....thanks.

That link only says:

Sorry, we couldn't find that!

which is exactly the same result as before

Addendum:

OK OK I have to LOGIN and now I see it

OK but I have a R290 card so that would not work I presume

From reading other posts, I assume that because you did not select a 'new' DSR resolution from the P3D menu, then you are not seeing the effects of DSR at all as you are still running a bog standard resolution.

It is a stunning screenshot, but not produced by DSR (unless I missed something).

Another shot leaving KNFT  in a 737-800 (DSR 2.0 native and 33% Smoothness)

Here's a beer, Rich...cold and frothy! :)

Mitch

Which resolution did you choose from the P3D menu?
