I don't know, but I heard there's a new simulator in town.

Side note: This is still under development & this is for entertainment purposes. No I'm not a supporter of this group I just found this interesting.

Their website says that Boeing is using it in their flight simulators, so who knows where it might lead.

I bet this is one of the markets LM is trying to break into with P3D, though as you can see they have a fair amount of catchup to do (and probably why they are so friendly to the consumer flight $im community).  We use a simular product where I work; we inject high fidelity realtime 6 DoF position data from an external hardware in the loop simulation into such visualization tech.  From an analysis standpoint, for our purposes this visualtion is of low value, but marketing loves loves loves this stuff.

This isn't a flight simulator.

Of course it's not a simulator yet :)! It's still a WIP, this is being built from the ground up! Check out their other videos, I think they are being sponsored by Boeing and LM.   for now we just have to wait and see what happens in the next few months or years. Maybe the airports will be up to date and we won't need to buy addon scenery for a much longer time and save us $$$ haha.

Jeez, that video you posted looks outstanding.

Haha thanks, although thank Facebook, without it I would have never found this video in the first place!

To the question, I don't know about the possibilites of the platform in the video, but in general why on earth it wouldn't be a preferred idea to develop new sim platforms and why someone would want to vote against something like new sims? I'm baffled by the amount of NO answers already at this point. No one is after all forced to buy a new sim and can stick to the FSX/XP/P3D for the rest of their lives if they want to. If there would be new platforms popping up even now and then, it would be just good for hobby and take simming software technology forward thus offering best possible performance and compatibility with new hardware and OS. I see many people complaining about FSX/P3D/XP problems and restrictions all the time and it is strange if some of those still choose to vote no. I'm quite happy with my P3DV2 right now, but new sims are always welcome and I will gladly try them out to see the potential.

Outerra based Flight Simulator. That seems to have more potential than other options.

More seriously

Devon, I'm shocked, . . . . shocked I tell you, that you didn't mention Outerra! :Big Grin:

Eh.......

I have a lot of hope for it, but I'm getting to the point where I don't want to seem to be spamming, either. If people can't see the potential by now, after all that's been shown, they never will.

Though I am working on a video.............

Very thoughtful of you. I guess the real trick is to raise the awareness of more and more people without going off the deep end. You do keep the topic in the forum section dedicated to Outerra, so I would not think that is Spam in any sense. The job is to get people to look there in the Outerra forum. There I've done a little spamming, but not enough to feel very guilty.

BTW I love the videos everyone has posted in: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/434517-an-interesting-future-for-outerra/

Okay now I feel a little guilty. :LMAO:
