Too strong scenery objects lightness

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Am I the only one to notice that some objects (pylon, TV antenna for e.g) from certains addon sceneries are too much lighted ? From the author or developpers point of view, it something happening on P3D only and not on FSx. These objects bright as-a-whole and it's not a matter of their position light (which should be red).

I try to take a picture to illustrate this issue but still image doesn't reflect the living simulator. I may - on request - take other pic if needed.

There are some objects that aren't compliant with P3D v2.4 ... they will need to be fixed specifically for P3D.  If this is an Orbx object then Orbx will need to address a fix, if LM object then LM will need to fix it.  Orbx have been pretty responsive and fixed several of their objects that don't work well in P3D but there are many objects that still don't work.

I'd recommend you bring up the issue with the source supplier of the objects in questions.  If nothing more, it will let the source supplier of the object know there is a growing interest in P3D.

Although my HDR changes may reduce the issue somewhat, the real fix needs to come from the supplier of the object (be it LM, Orbx, whomever).

Cheers, Rob.

According to one of the developper where this lightness problem is visible, this issue is related to light effect that where use normally in FSx. As nothing specific is described in the P3D SDK (compared to the FSx), the developper expect that Lockheed Martin will correct in somethink like a new release.

Thanks Rob. Looks like the same issue and seems Orbx find a workaround for an LM issue and their specific objects (crane is this case).

However with the way effects are rendered from a distance in Prepar3D if you fly near the cranes and the effect loads, when you fly away they will stay loaded and become very bright at a distance again. That's the only workaround available so far since effects do not fade out in P3Dv2 like they do in FSX and P3D1.4.
