ASN with REX4-TD & FC_Commander

Recommended Posts

Hello All

Could you please help me,  As I am using ASN as my main weather engine I kind of noticed and annoyed by the fact that ,neither REX4TD nor FC_Commander uses the same engine....They would have different weather .......At REX4TD, settings I added the EXE file for ASN and nothing changed .....Regarding FC_Commander at views, downloads....it reads web page only to download weather.....I used the ASN manual with third part products with no luck....Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks

Alaa

You have to enter the complete file path for your weather engine on the REX settings page (where it asks what weather engine to launch).

Since rex4 is only  a texture addon and not  a weather  engine so don't know what your tying to achieve here, maybe you pointed  to the wrong exe for asn since I just tried it in my rex4  option and it auto started  asn for me.

What I am trying to do is to select a weather based theme for a specif airport ....So I don't get the same weather conditions as per ASN ...

thank you Pete...that's what I did exactly for the settings....unfortunately same problem try for example  try MMMX ...for  ASN it's a thunder storm, heavy rain  with low visibility ....for REX it's sunny day with broken clouds !!!

I know it will not effect the flight but it's kind of annoying

Is it possible that ...the Asnnext.exe is not the weather engine ?

Just curious, did you look up the real weather there (MMMX).

Which was right?

So in this particular case, after the sim starts, is the weather sunny or storms?

Edit: Ok I see, it's stormy and your REX textures will be for sunny conditions?

Ok I see your problem.

You want REX to use ASN to get the weather it will use to generate it's textures?
That not how it works although it would be great if it was.
REX will only use it's own weather data base to look up the weather.
ASN is just a program REX will start after REX has created those textures.

I was only giving an example of last night flight ......

  • I did not check real weather at that time.
  • Second comment is correct the weather will be as per ASN.
  • OK I see
  • That case you dysplying didnt happen to me lately ....I will double check later toda

Just to let you know....At FS_Commander forum .......They said FSC can not use ASN engine ....FYI

And by the way what happens with REX4TD applies to TOPCAT ..as well never has the same weather as ASN !!

Think your getting confused here with rex4, rex4 is only  a texture program nothing  else  it hasn't  a weather  engine  built in it as per rexe  etc

In top cat you have to point  to whatever weather engine  you want  to get its information from.

So what ever weather engine your using  rex4  textures will apply those  to whatever  the weather condtions  you fly in to what you use being either rexe, asn or opus.
