Hello everyone,

after flying my 737 for a full year and hundreds of hours, I would like to give the Airbus a try, also considering my VA has a lot of interesting routes flown by Airbus. I currently am using a Saitek yoke, and was wondering whether anyone here is flying Airbus aircraft with a yoke, which I know it would not be realistic, but maybe feasible, or if a different joystick is suggested or necessary to properly fly an Airbus, in which case what models you suggest. I am brand new to Airbus, but I am willing to give it a try, for a change, just to learn it and try new things. Besides, as I said, that would give me the chance to fly new routes on IVAO with my VA. Any help and insight will be appreciated,

Regards

Enrico :)

I fly the Airbus with the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro stick. It's not the best fly-by-wire joystick but for something in its price range, it works perfectly. It twists for rudder and a hat switch.

And for anyone who wants to give the left hand a try:

I am right handed, but hold the joystick with my left hand only. At first, it felt weird to grip the stick with my left hand, but eventually you get used to it. Now, I always do non-precision approaches with the Airbus using my left hand gripping the stick. I think the muscle memory started kicking in after I started my real world flying, where I have my left hand on the yoke and right hand on the throttle.

Many thanks everyone. I have to make up my mind between the Logitech Attack3 and the Logitech 3D Pro, maybe the 3D Pro, as that has a three axes control, we'll see....

Is there any joysticks that looks like and feel like the real Airbus stick? NOT the one from Flightdeck Solutions please, just one that all of us can afford :-)

Microsoft Force Feedback 2 if you find a way of getting one. The most precise thing I ever used due to the fact that is using a motor instead of springs.
