HDR v2.2 vs v2.4 ...

I'm patient Rob, just wish they would respond to the many users complaining about this so that we can decide what makes sense to do going forward.  But alas, they don't.

That's simply inaccurate ... anyway, if you've moved on you've moved on.  Enjoy your new hobby.

Cheers, Rob.

You're right Rob, it was quite inaccurate.  I should have been more detailed to say 'LM has responded w/ a proposed solution that has almost no impact on the issue, explained the issue is affected by several other areas the proposed solution will not address, and we aren't making any statements as to if and when this issue will be further developed...'   That would be an accurate representation of LM's response--at least that's all I've seen so far.  If you know something beyond that please share.

Thanks, I am.  I still enjoy simming but am dedicating less time to it these days.  P3D V2.x is a fine simulator and I look forward to their continuing to improve on it.

So does the HDR tweek lighten the water color when only using HDR? I have mine set off but the water is still too dark especially in the Bahamas and Florida Keys where I fly mostly. I noticed the Bahama and Cay Sal Banks were too dark flying over them. Even using the South Florida and Bahama Water Class and texture tweek for REX ES + OD by Wally-Bob those areas are extremely dark but in FSX they were much lighter as a greenish/blue color like in real life. I guess I'm asking for a tweak to lighten shallow water areas in the tropics with or without using HDR. I also use REX 4 and Bright Shallow coral texture that seems to lighten a little but still not the same as on the ground the water seems right but flying over the same areas just is too dark in color for my tastes.

You may want to go thru another thread I created here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/455299-the-perfect-hdr/

As a side note, several folks using my settings didn't remove the "//" in front of avgLuminance ... this line

Line 166:

avgLuminance *= 0.60f;

I'm currently using a value of 0.85.

Cheers, Rob.
