Very dark / opaque windscreen on C172 in X-Plane 10

Featured Replies

Flying the Carenado C172 v3 in X-Plane 10 in the evening or at night is very difficult because the windows are not very clear. They impart a heavy grey tint to the view which makes detail very hard to see.

Here are some screenshots to illustrate the problem:

Does anybody else have this problem in X-Plane? Is it a bug in the Carenado 172? Any thoughts on how to correct it?

Just couple of thoughts here, might not be the solution though:

1- i do have the C90  carenado plane, it has an option to enable/disable the window reflections.

2- Do you have Real Terra Haze latest version, the fog extreme option can reduce visibility/ lights at night.

3 -Do you have MAX FX or Blu FX , you can choose a lighter preset or maybe play with the colours.

It was my Real Terra Haze preset. Disabling RTH fixes the problem. I guess I just need to play with it until I find something that looks good and does not mess up the cockpit.

Specifically the "Obj (cockpit) gamma" setting under the lights panel will cause very hazy glass at any setting other than 0.
