Re-installing v344.48 driver bluescreens my PC

Recommended Posts

For some reason I can't find my Nvidia Control Panel in the task bar anymore.  This is my first issue.  If anyone can let me know how to retrieve it, I'd appreciate it.

So yesterday, I thought that re-installing the V344.48 Nvidia driver would reinstate my Nvidia Control panel.  I went through the installation process, but halfway through the install my PC  blue screened.  It did this twice on two seperate attempts with reboots inbetween.  Does anyone have any clue why this might be happening?  I was thinking tonight I might try a manual uninstall of the current driver and then try the re-install....

There is an option to do a, (I think its called a new or complete install) a custom installation so you could try that.

Thanks Bob

I had to use a display driver uninstaller application which seemed to clear out all previous components. and  allowed me to reinstall the driver.  The Control Panel is now restored.

Thats good news. don't forget when installing a new driver you need to export your NI profile first as NI resets it to default.

I've created a new NI prfile for P3DV2 based on some feedback in the SweetFX forums - seems to work well.
