After much tweaking with sweetfx, dx10, and shade, I finally think I have the right combination of light intensity, color, and shadowing.  Im using the pmdg ngx along with a modified sunglare tweak found here http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/10000-sunglare-vc-tweak-re-purposing-fsxes-lensflare-effect/ .  Here are some dusk shots taken while approaching Miami from Kingston, Jamaica.

Thank you, yes dx 10 bloom is enabled.
