Sorry, I did not make myself clear. I fly a lot on Vatsim and IVAO about 4 hours most days and have been doing it for about a month or so now. I still think of myself as a newbie.I know how Vatsim works and I have issues with the over complex reading and red tape; but that's another issue. One person cleared up one of my concerns in clear and concise English. FSinn is like Sqwark Box 3. Now why did I have to find that out here and not on Vatsim or FSinn site. That's the points I was trying to make. Not a moan just a statement of fact. My viewpoint; that's all.As for reading the stuff on Vatsim, I've been doing that for ages now. Tons and tons of stuff to read and IMO could be made a lot more simple to follow. And I mean a lot. It looks to me like the site has evolved and gradually got amendments here there and everywhere and has a cobbled together look and feel. And very complex feel at that.A little like looking for hay in a hay-stack there. So much stuff it's easy to miss anything and even everything. I certainly had no idea what FSinn was untill it was explained so well earlier in this thread. That's the sort of thing I mean. This guy clearly understands where I'm at and I think I talk for a lot of people who get put off by too much stuff to read to get going on a new track.I know several people who have tried to get to grips with Vatsim and failled.Quiet a few in my testers group have tried to get on with Vatsim and out of about 5 of us that tried only one other guy and myself managed to have the patience to do a first fligth on Vatsim.IVAO is a lot easier to get on with and the ATC seems to be as good to me and if anything the controllers more friendly and more helpful. But for USA Vatsim is better.

Not what I said Jetwing. What I said was I don't normally use freeware because it's not my choice and to me I rather pay for something and get the service that goes with payware. I don't have the time or interest to find out by trail and error which freeware works and what does not and what is compatible with what.My frustration with Freeware is down to too many times somthing either does not work properly or is not supported or is hard to understand. There are exceptions but I do not have the time to hunt these down. For example; last night I was flying company traffic with a fellow simmer on Vatsim who had been saying to me "get the freeware mesh for North America, it's great"That same guy is taking the freeware mesh of now because it screwed up the costlines.I don't have time for that kind of trail and error thing and I don't mind paying for things.Everything on my system that's not default is payware. It's me and my choice. Not you it's me..... I hope that makes it a little clearer? As for FSinn it's like SB3 and as I have that then why do I need FSinn? But I'm still confused and still don't know why exactly I need FSinn. Not fully anyway.

The point I tried to make Jetwing is there is not commercial choice; but if there was I'd buy it. That's all. Why are you geing scarcastic? Is is a language thing? Maybe a sense of humor I'm missing?

Peter, you didn't have to find about FSinn here, its right there on the front page of VATSIM since March 28 right above the post about the release of Squawkbox. It says there, among other things that its a "user friendly multiplayer pilot client software, compatible with the popular SB3 and VATSIM".Regards,

The Aerocommanders are nice but heavy on frames and basic systems. The iFDG planes don't have a VC nor detailed systems such as the Dreamfleet 727, pmdg 737, level d 763, etc. There's your difference between (quality) payware and (quality) freeware

Yes, thanks for the info. I guess I'm just too thick to get my head aroud what it is. Yes, I've seen the note there but did not understand it and to be honest still don't know why I need it.It does strike me the Vatsim group is a very clever bunch of guys and like a lot of clever people it is often the case these mega brains don't know what us simple folk need to help us grasp what something is or why it is or what it does.I've seen several adds for FSinn but I just don't understand what it is, what is a client? Like a customer? Someone who pays for a service? Now I've got a network and just about understand that one of my machines or both are clients, not sure I understand it though but I know it works cos I plugged it in and it means my computers can share disks and printers etc. Really helpful for me cos I can back up files and that means as I make clouds they get put on another machine. Is it something like that? I just don't know that kind of technical talk.Like a lot of people I have a selective memory and only remember what I need to know on a event for event bases or I learn what I need if I need to know it or use it again and again. I don't work with clients but I have worked with customers in the past. LOL but clients on my computers. Not any as far as I know. Not paying ones anyway. So right now I have Vatsim and its working just fine. FSini: It smooths aircraft and I just about think maybe I know what that is; but that's about it. removing jaggies I suspect like AA? Makes the polygons look more round maybe? But I suspect if it does make aircraft smoother like this then the video card gets more overloaded and fps gets even worst? Maybe not?Forgive me but what is a muli-player client and why do I need it? Vatsim works just fine for me and so does IVAO. And it was hard setting it all up and reading how to make it all work and now suddenly I need FSinn but don't know why. Just thick here I guess.Peter
