How do I find SID/STARS allocated to a runway

You can find SIDs and STARs on the charts that are available for most bigger airports.

There are several options to obtain those charts, starting with simple googling for charts for a certain airport.

 

A little more direct searching can be done on several dedicated websites, for instance Navigraph.com

Here you can download a program through which you can download charts per airport and this can be done with a subscription or you can pay 20-30 cents per airport on download.

 

Another option would be on Skyvector.com which is free, but far as I know it's only for North America.

 

There is also a program, called Dauntles Simplates, which has charts and diagrams for a lot of airports, but also not all.

 

And there are more websites and probably programs that can help you with finding charts.

Thing is that non of them have all charts you might need, so it always comes down to searching for the charts you need in preparation of a flight, but this is a part of the pre-flight procedure in planning your flight.

Skyvector.com is not just USA. I've just checked UK, France and Iran as examples.

 

Check it out for your area. If you are covered all the charts you need should be there.

 

Having said that I use the Dauntless App on my iPhone / iPad too.

Googled

Skyvector EGNH (my local) linked to a list of Uk airports on Skyvector .uk but that linked to .com maps site.

Same for France and Iran.

Skyvector and navigraph are invaluable, however, I just wanted to clarify what the OP means by a SID/STAR being "allocated" to a runway. While it is true that some SID/STARS dovetail nicely with certain runways, this is usually not the case. SIDS/STARS are used for traffic sequencing into and out of congested terminal approach areas, among other uses. Many simmers have the mistaken impression that a STAR is suppose to guide them all the way down to the runway threshold and more often than not, come in high and fast. An approach controller will guide a flight in for the final stages of an approach at any major airport. Anyway, Skyvector is free and one can find airport diagrams, approach plates, SID/STARS for most airports. Navigraph, I believe, is around $5 for one nav cycle and you can update your FMC nav data for all of your payware aircraft. Its an unbelievable bargain. Regards

Many simmers have the mistaken impression that a STAR is suppose to guide them all the way down to the runway threshold

 

In the UK many STARS teminate at a hold from which any runway can be approached.
