A Decent Laptop for FSX

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Recently, with the help of some people on this forum, I built a computer (specs are below) with FSX running smoothly and perfectly for me. I have been moving around a lot and I am starting to think I should've bought a laptop. Not that I will buy one in the immediate vicinity, I am just looking to see if there are any good ones for FSX that will run it decently. With that, I mean something like what I currently have - I don't use a bunch of addons, mainly default scenery but I fly planes such as the NGX, A2A 172 and Aerosoft Airbus X, which run fine under my current system. Anyone who could find a good laptop with similar specs- thanks!! My budget is around $1200 at the max.

I apologize for going a little off-topic, but I wanted to pass on a friendly reminder that AVSIM's signature rules have changed. It is no longer allowed to have your system specs in your signature; please use the tabs provided in your profile instead. For the full set of rules, please follow this link: http://forum.avsim.net/page/AVSIM%20Pages/sig.html

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best regards,

Those look pretty good for my price range.

Yeah, that's the only thing. My current rig has win 7, I don't know what fsx will do if I switch to Win 8.1 :/ I've heard about all of the crashes, so idk. Is it possible to uninstall Windows 8.1 and install 7?

I really like to help you CathayA340, but have you ever heard about an amazing search tool called Google?

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/ProductDetailsViewer?Type=Software&Name=Microsoft+Flight+Simulator+X%3A+Deluxe&ModelOrVersion=10&Vendor=Microsoft&Locale=1033%2C2057%2C3081%2C4105%2C16393&LastSearchTerm=microsoft%2Bflight%2Bsimulator%2Bx&BreadcrumbPath=microsoft+flight+simulator+x&TempOsid=Windows+8.1

Try it...  ^_^

Personally I think Win8 is a disaster (the guy who developed it is no longer with MS) so if you have a Win7 disk install that.

If you have a non-oem disk, then yes you can install Windows 7.

You might be still able to "downgrade" to Windows 7 on the laptop if you buy it.

Oh ok, that's not too good news for me. I have the oem disk of Windows 7 Ultimate http://www.amazon.com/Windows-Ultimate-System-Builder-Packaging/dp/B00H09C0U2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415721781&sr=8-1&keywords=windows+7+ultimate

So I can't use that to downgrade right? If I were to buy this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834317538&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=6147576&SID=pq50107to79v
