I'm in love with this plane... Time to Soup It Up!

Recommended Posts

Great job, Hawk!   Flies nice.

Oh by the way, for anyone who doesn't own this old classic Carenado aircraft, it's gone on sale with Just Flight today for £5.00  ($8.80).

Bert, I was expecting you to tell us how to do it. Maybe the GTN650. My LHC AP work great in this one.

Any idea what the 3rd or last item on the popup is suppose to do?

Ray

Exactly, it removes the COM1/NAV1 radio.. which is good.

Question is, how to get a replacement radio/GPS installed in it's place..

Bert, I think that check-box just removes the 3D knobs from the model does it not?

So as long as that check-box is selected, can't you just use FSPS to put a new unit in it's place?

Have tried, but the upper radio gets replaced by a filler panel which blocks access.

I've sent a support request to Carenado, there must be a way..

Usually, I can figure these things out, but this one has me stumped..

Watching you guys tweak the panel on this with great interest....

Might determine whether I pick this one up as well!

(I should likely pick it up anyways at less than $10!)

I'm not so sure about some of this. FSPS does not work in P3Dv2. I have the GTN650 in and working correctly in the VC and the popup. I also have bugged Carenado Support. I got one dorky answer and wrote back with very specific questions and have not heard back yet.

I did a repaint or two to change the N# and add the TC.

Ray

Hmm, yeah, I was trying it at the same time as you  - and came across the same thing. :/

You guys had me scared to death there for a sec.. Have no idea what was behind the "Custom Panel" thing.

Nice touch adding the TC labels Ray!

I hope the instructions where easy to follow.

I bought and added the GLV2000 from FSD, but then after a few days, I realized it was a fun old school VOR to VOR ride... like it was meant to be really.

It takes allot of down trim to keep the nose down, both before, and after TC mod... but that's how Stolle mapped it, so I didn't mess with that. .air file changes where

all about heads and oil temps... but you can run it wide open and peg the needles... no damage mod. Prop RPMs will go down to 2200 in the TC, but not the regular version.

Mr Stolle asked for it to be taken down some time ago. Anyone still interested in the TC mod can PM me.
