Disappearing runway and airport lights in dx9 after dx10 fixer

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have problem now with disappearing runway and airports lights even after I went back to DX9

I uninstall DX10 like  instructed in manual, but its still disappearing in DX9, before the DX10 fixer there was nothing like that.

I have deselected  DX10 in FSX

I have recreated new FSX.cfg

I have deleted both shaders folders, fsx recreated new.

Nothing helps

Maybe you could help me please?

Thanks.

DX10SF has no effect in DX9 and nor does it change any files that DX9 uses

The only exception to that is the effects files if you selected that option - the changes are all reversed when you uninstall the libraries from Dx10 Controller or switch to DX9 from within the controller.

I suspect you have some other issue.

You might want to check the Graphics NUM_LIGHTS setting but that usually exhibits as the VC light not working.

If you didn't uninstall correctly - then

install again,

install the libraries - selecting all the options

uninstall the libraries

then uninstall.

Note that in DX10 mode you will have problems with lights at legacy airports such as Aerosoft unless you install a light field but that has nothing to do with DX9.

You right, I just tride to switch DX10 back and went to the airport, lights was desapiaring as normal for DX10. I made light field for this airport USSS, went back its got much better but 30% of lights still desapiaring. What is going on I don't get, somewhere something hiding.

Here what I have for any modes DX10 and DX9 in all airports.

I don't know what I am looking at. Are you saying that light disappear as you move your view point or are you just saying that you don't see enough lights? Have you tried adjusting the scenery complexity slider? What airport is this?

Sorry you did say USSS

In both In dx10 and dx9

I have checked NUM_LIGHTS, it's says 8.

I did research over internet, lookes like I am only one have that problem.

I have the same problem at ESSA and LEPA. Taxi lights disappearing and then coming back again. I have yet to look more into the problem. Just wanted to mention, that you are not the only one.

I'm not sure if the "ballast light" has anything to do with this?

@Jarko is this DX9 or DX10 and if the latter have you installed a light field?

the ballast light was an old attempt to fix this which has been replaced.

However the OP is asking about DX9 for which none of this has any relevance.

Steve

Thank you for trying to help me to solve this.

I have this in all airports going on, so I think the problem somewhere in the main FSX and not with the specific airport.

Here is a video I posted on YouTube, so you can clearly understand what is going on.

I hate that, because on takeoff, landing and taxi it feels awful.

Here is the link, that is DX9

Jarkko

see video, maybe its the same that you have.

So if you go to a default airport in Australia for example - you are seeing this in DX9?

Are you sure firstly that you are actually running in DX9 - when you launch FSX is the DX10 Preview option unticked?

Have you uninstalled the DX10SF libraries (or switched mode inside DX10 Controller) can you go into the effects directory and tell me are there files called ORIGxxxxx.fx

What is your special effects detail slider set to in FSX?

Can you post the effects.cfg from the effects directory?

I just discovered something strange, if I don't use ACTIVE SKY NEXT or FS Global Real Weather, lights disappearing much less, even difficult to notice.

What is the connection between a weather engine and lights, pfffff strange.

I have a powerful computer running at 4.9

Can it be a bad video driver? I use 344.48

Update

not a video driver, just installed 344.65. Its all the same.

How strange that any weather engine makes it worse.

All day was trying to sort this problem.

Actually I found out that its going on only in 2 airports, USSS Aerosoft and new UUDD from MDESIGN.

Steve, thanks for help anyway, I guees I will have to live with this problem. 2 full days searching over Internet for a clue and found nothing.

Hi Ivan - this is somewhere called Yekaterinburg yes? Before I buy it is there any possibility that you have another copy of that airport installed from another developer or perhaps a demo that is interfering with it?

No Steve, only aerosoft, but now I started to think that this is maybe normal.

I have found a video from Youtube with the same thing, so maybe it's normal and just I didn't noticed it before.

If you see from 2:08 on the right side, you will see lights going on and off at the terminals.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZP1KETygYD8

And here is the same in USSS

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3EJKx40IETE

I am very sorry Steve for taken your time for nothing, my mistake.

Thank you.
