Vegetation shadows costs me more than 20fps in prepar 3d 2.4

In 2.3 the cost in fps with veg shadow enabled, wasnt noticeable.

In 2.4 I get 20fps or more drop when enabled.

 

Anyone else?

shadow performance overall certainly needs improvement but LM is going in the right direction (I love how they softened terrain shadow in 2.4).  I use FTX global textures, which have vegitation shadows "built in".  Nothing dynamic but looks very good nevertheless...and zero performance impact.

I remember turning vegetation shadows on has almost no performance impact? Maybe I need to double check.

 

I hate hard-baked shadows in trees and ground textures though, they really ruined shadows implanted by LM. I'm longing for a FTX Global version with all the hard-baked shadows removed.

 

That said, I always feel shadows in P3D is too light, they need to be darker...
