I am not. Why waste time trying to explain the situation so someone could the understand the problem. Probably just get referred to the 777 Introduction manual section on VAS.

Reverted back to AIRAC 1309 that came with the base T7 install.  2 hours into JFK-LAX, no VAS leaking, holding stable at 2.6-2.7 GB now.  Symptoms not visible.

I believe I have AIRAC 1413 somewhere still, so I suppose I can try that next.  Definitely saw the leak with 1501 and 1502.  Comparing 1502 with 1309, at least the entries for KLAX, I'm not seeing anything jumping out at me as different or problematic...

The mystery continues

tips to save vas: dont use 4096 textures. only activate the departure and arrival airport in the scenery list. make sure there are no duplicate afcads. No AI traffic. Autogen to normal. Select None for preload sounds in the fmc pmdg sound option settings. dont use the optional 5.1 soundset. Knock on wood I am 11 hours in. 10:30 from Aerosoft EDDP to Imaginesime ZSPD and now 30 minutes into the return flight without closing. FSX stable so far so good. I can switch views and not lose textures or get oom dings.

I think the focus of our testing now is geared toward a noticeable VAS leak of 200 MB/hour ONLY when using KLAX as a destination in the FMC...

Whether it's the T7 itself, recent AIRACs (at least 1501 and 1502) themselves, or a combination of the two is TBD.

(At least in my case, as I indicated above, I can fly 18+ hours with stable VAS.)

Hi All,

Good to see that i am not alone and the oom group is growing, i ve never met or heard about oom untill i ve done one of the asn or pmdg update, after the update i could not do any 1 hour flight from any EU airport to aerosoft EGLL, but since a few days i ve got steve dx10 fixer and today could achieve my KIAD-EGLL at vas 3.9 without oom (only ding dong ) ftx global and scenery enabled + Asn, for sure since i ve installed the steve fixer something happened and vitamined my desktop ( i7-3770 -GTX 670 -16 g Ram - Clock 4.2 ghz ), for sure still some tweak to set up and finalise it to make my T7 flying well.

Any help is really welcoming.

Try completely removing ASN then fly a flight to see if that changes anything.

And if you're using a relatively recent AIRAC, try flying into KLAX to see what your results are.

You don't need KLAX scenery.  I'm using default scenery for testing purposes.

I think the problem is more at the origin airport. For example EHAM to me  is a major problem for me. I'll start out at 1.1GB free (FSUIPC reading) and before takeoff I'm down to <500MB free. I don't get that much more enroute, and on landing it will drop below 200MB with the FSUIPC dings) and eventually OOM. If I'm using DX9 it will happen before or just after landing, with DX10 I can usually get to the gate. I tried this with flights to KLAX, KJFK, and KATL. (and it don't matter if it's the default airport or an addon AFCAD -I don't have payware for these areas). Now in contrast, take KATL to KLAX. (freeware AFCADS) I start with the same 1.1GB free, and takeoff about 1.0GB free. Enroute I get about the same, and landing at LAX the lowest I go down is about 750MB free. I flew a flight yesterday from KSFO to PHNL also with similar results. I run with 100% WOAI traffic which is a rather large collection of world airlines especially European and US, and both KATL and KSFO are just as complex as KHAM, especially with Traffic so I don't think that's the issue. It just seems there is certain areas in the world that eats VAS more then others, for no apparent reason. I've tried this with other complex aircraft, and there are similar drops, but not to the point of getting into OOM territory. It shows up with the 777 because it eats more VAS initially then most other aircraft addons, so the margin is that much smaller.

I don't think anyone is disagreeing with you there.  Amsterdam, London, New York, Seattle, other places are known to be troublesome for FSX.

I'm mostly interested in your KATL-KLAX flight.  Which AIRAC cycle are you using in the 777?  Do you use ASN?  What version of the 777 do you have, SP1c?  SP1d?

I'm using the latest 1502 AIRAC SP1D and ASN. I should note I run FSX on a 3Ghz E6850 C2D, and a GTX 460 1GB Video card. on Vista 32bit OS. So technically my T7 isn't officially supported, so I have to take what I can get. My settings are extremely dense scenery, I can generally go to dense Autogen without VAS issues (Except at the aforementioned airport, and a few others like the New York area airports, and Chicago) but I normally use Sparse for FPS reasons. As mentioned I use 100% WOAI traffic, I also sometimes use UT2, but because of the way it injects traffic, can cause some stutters, which don't occur with WOAI. Performance is about the same otherwise!

About 2 hours into KMIA-KLAX using AIRAC 1413, VAS leaking symptoms are visible.  Approximately 220 MB/hour this test.  Will revert back to PMDG's 1309 and see if I can repeat those stable results.

Hey guys, no way is the navdata going to create a VAS problem. All that data does is act as database for FMS.

Back on topic:  Finally got my B777 out of the hanger having been slaving for RSR with NGX beta tests. Did a clean install of P3Dv2.5 and first fligth was my VAS testbed ImagineSim KATL to FSDT KLAX in a Delta B77L N702DN.  I made the entire trip without running out of VAS!!!! Wow!!!  Using 4096 textures at KLAX too. Wow.  No ASN of course, still waiting for HiFi to release their update.

Using FSUIPC logger, the flight loaded in at 1.58 GB (excuse my shortcut, I'm using the FSUIPC numbers as rough representation of GB) and ended flight at Gate 57 with 0.49 remaining.  I couldn't do that in v2.4, not even with low textures.

Okay, gotta bet back to work before Robert notices me missing.

Installed 1407 V2. Using on EDDP-KLAX. VAS is varying between 2.4 and 2.5GB but only two hours into flight of a twelve hour flight. Will let you know how it turns out.

I hope PMDG support is a little more open minded and don't just dismiss it out of hand.
