PMDG-Dreamliner

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone..

I was just wondering when PMDG will bring out or start on the 787-Dreamliner?

If it is already in plan or production, could somebody Link me to some news?

Kind Regards

Mehdi

Where did you hear that PMDG was planning on developing the 787?

There's a reason why you haven't heard about it... They haven't made ANY statement regarding the 787.

In any case, Quality Wings seems to be on track for a VERY decent release.

There have been multiple discussions amongst the membership here, though mostly only in the form of "will they," or "they should" types of posts. Nothing has come from an official perspective, though.

Well, if they do I demand that they accurately model the battery failures too  :LMAO:

I hope you realize that another developer is already making the 787 right?

Quality Wings' is going to be fantastic! Most likely much better than their previous work... It should be relatively close to PMDG quality. So, I don't ever see PMDG making a 787 nor do I want them to make one. The QW will be sufficient for me...

It will be "Quality" but not even close to PMDG Quality. They don't target the same customer base as PMDG.

Yeah, I was about the say similar.

Plus, PMDG has been doing their own thing (for the most part) for quite some time now. They didn't avoid releasing a 737 because someone else had done it, and they aren't avoiding a 744 because someone else is doing one, too. I imagine even if there are a few 787s out there, if they're not to what the dev team thinks is up to how they'd do it, they might do one too, eventually.

Agreed. The iFly 737NG was successful but for a different user base looking for a different level of detail and a different price point. I think that PMDG should pay no attention to what others are doing because it's never the same.

I absolutely agree..))

They shouldn't pay attention to the others.. After all, they are the most precise in detail and simulation Physics that are involved  in engineering these aircraft..

Mehdi,

I feel that you have had comprehensive replies to your question, except that PMDG has to make commercial decisions about its likely return on investment. They certainly won't be disclosing their calculations.

HTH.
