How Do You Create A Holding Pattern Flight1 GTN 750

Recommended Posts

I can't find anything in the GTN 750 manuals on how to do this. I'm trying to create a holding pattern at a given waypoint in my flight plan. Not one on an approach.

Thanks

Bill

Odd this question just came up for RXP 530.

Anyway you won't get the racetrack in the unit unless it's published. The way to hold on a fix is to press OBS and change your OBS knob with your plane. I think you can also define the inbound course on the GTN750 itself.

Bill and I are friends trying to fly together online. We both figured we could use the holding pattern mode to find each other visually if we get separated on our flight. Bill has F1 GTN750, I have RXP GNS530, hence the coincidence. Thanks though Ryan, I received a similar answer for the GNS530 so looks like we are more or less set to go.

Yeah I use them both.

RXP - FSX

F1 - P3D

Great gauges... sometimes feels like the 530 is just easier to use.  But that's probably because I've used it for much much longer.

I think it's because you've used it for longer.  As someone with little 530/430 experience, and that experience being 100% simulator based, the GTN units are a godsend. ^_^

I have an original idea:  Register your new GTN750 at the appropriate Flight1 Forum and the question can be quickly and definitively answered.  Can't get registered?  Gasp!!  Could it be you are running pirated software?!!

Bill is a member of Flight1 forums and received support from them for another GTN issue. When you assume... well, you know how the rest of the saying goes. Very kind response to someone with a question posted on your forums, accuse them of piracy since they posted on the forums to begin with.

I agree the assuming was silly but F1 generally doesn't provide support without proof of purchase.  It's annoying but a fair concept.  I think this is what Dan was getting at - could have been written a lot better

Oh my gosh!  Someone, on a forum dedicated to sharing collective knowledge of flight simming, asking a question about a flight simulation product!

Must be a pirate!

Thin skinned guys.  I stand by my intent and writing.  Sure seems to me that a guy who wants a definitive answer would go to the source, especially if (as indicated) he is a registered product purchaser.  But what do I know.  Everyone, and sometimes it seems like everyone indeed, knows more than I--and is sure glad to make that point known.
