Compatibility settings for fs 2004

Recommended Posts

Greetings fellow sufferers! Looking at Pete Dowsons fsuipc 3.999 ''read me'' he states it`s better to fun FS 2004 IN XP3 Compatibility mode in Win 7 64 bit, iv`e been running my sim in win 7 mode and it works fine, is this instruction only when using legal fsuipc?

Cheers,

Alcan

I use win7 64 bit. I use the registered (I bought a licence) FSUIPC. I have never found the need to run FS9 in compatibility mode.

I disagree - compatibility settings are completely unnecessary when running on Win7 with a properly configured setup.  FSUIPC(registered or not) has no noticeable issues in Win7.  Pete's comment has to do with folks who install the sim in the default location, don't turn UAC off, don't turn Win Defender off, or don't run FS "as administrator".  I'm not aware of the "other reasons" he writes about.  My advice is to not run in compatibility mode.
