April 29, 200521 yr Hi LouYou appear to have got completely the wrong end of the stick after a recent comment of mine. The offending statement was just an attempt at subtle humour, which seems to have missed the mark by several miles. Of course I don't think that you, or indeed anyone, could fund their real flying from producing FS addons. My real thoughts were a few lines above if you care to look - that no-one gets rich on it and that it's probably a labour of love, as they say. Sorry for bringing it up again, but as you've mentioned it in another thread I just wanted to put the record straight. Does it matter? Well, yes it does to me because even behind the mask of anonymity that is the internet, I don't like causing offence, especially when the intention was quite the opposite... Anyway, you seem to have got a good laugh out of it in the end :-)Take careIan
April 29, 200521 yr Ian, I've had some attempts at humour fall pretty flat at times too. It's hard on the Net because the supporting visual and audio cues are missing--it can be misunderstood pretty easily. billg
April 29, 200521 yr Ian, welcome to my world. No one ever understands my sense of humor, even when I am standing directly in front of them. :)
April 29, 200521 yr I learned long ago that humor is best delivered in person, when you can watch your audience and see if he/she/they got it or if they have misunderstood and taken offence. Having said that, then I must confess that I don't always practice what I preach and often get myself in a fix. These forums add the challenge of a multilingual readership and that can get real dicey real fast. So its probably best to check you wit at the door, ahh, homepage and play it streight here.R-
April 29, 200521 yr The internet almost requires a new form of expression - but emoticons do help! :-jumpy
April 29, 200521 yr Hey Ian,Sure Lou is making tons of money on FS add-ons. I'm sure he is reading this from his villa in the South of France as we speak:-lol ####, I've probably bought enough from them to pay a payment or two on his new Porche. That's what happens when you offer some of the best add-ons in FS. Don't sweat it Ian. Lou, I believe, has pretty thick skin. Believe me, I've "opened mouth and inserted foot" more times than I care to think of on the forums. Unfortunately, as stated above, the internet is kind of flying in FS. You just can't get the ral "feel" of things sometimes.
May 1, 200521 yr BTW, it's not a Porsche, but the 3 of them are German! ;-)Ian, I knew it was humor, but still had to respond, as some folks might not understand it. Certainly no hard feelings. At least now, some know about my last name.Welcome to MY world, Tom A.! :-lolAll right, back to flying! Regards,http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...R_FORUM_LOU.jpg
