Guys,

I really need help. My SSD is running out of space. I cant even install my P3D on a separate hard disk as my C drive is running low on space. Although my FSX is on a separate disk( M drive) and I have a separate disk for games (H Drive), my main storage is running low. Any help on what I can delete, uninstall in order to gain more space and install my P3d. I understand that even though you I have multiple HDD, some files will be copied into my C drive. Would appreciate any help and advise on this please.

Regards

There's just not enough detail here to even attempt an answer...  What OS, size of boot partition, installed software, etc etc etc

Buy a new one, prices are OK right now.

FYI I bought two Intel Series 335 240 Gb´s very cheap and use them in Raid0, very fast. Yes I know, they are a bit old, but they were cheap!

Here's what I did:

Crucial M4 128GB SSD for OS and critical OS-related software

WD Black 1TB for games and speed-sensitive programs

Seagate 4TB (taken from an external HDD, was cheaper that way) for storage.

Never got close to running out of space.

Some options that may help. Don't know which windows you are running i asume windows 7.

-right click drive. Properties. Then click disk clean up.

Windows 7 tends to keep allot of useless temporary files.

-Use a program called windirstat to see your drive file structure. You can clearly see what's taking allot of space by using that program.

I'm using an 80gb ssd C drive myself.

How much stuff is in your user profiles?

Things to check for each user profiles on your computer:

My Documents

My Downloads

Videos

Music

Pictures

those are the usual things that take up space on your windows drive if you haven't redirected their location off from their default locations.

If you are using a cloud drive like Dropbox or oneDrive. They'll also install on your windows drive as a default. Moving those off to another drive helps depending on how much you have there.

If he buys a larger SSD, can he clone all the stuff on the old SSD on the new one and not have re- to install FSX, al the PMDG planes, FSUIPC, REX, ASN etc?

I have a Samsung Evo PRO Series 256Gb SSD and I have successfully installed FSX, P3D, the OS+My Docs, etc, etc +MSO stuff, sceneries, etc and still have over 72GB free space.

So, a 256Gb capacity should suffice.
