ATIS at departure not available

Recommended Posts

No matter how much I have tried I never get ATIS information at the departure airport’, it always jumps straight to clearance.

Is there a way to ask for it?

Thanks to all

Mauro,

Check the tutor flight (manual, page 23).

For arrival just ask for a frequency change when you want to get ATIS on COM1 ...... or dial it on COM2.

>> ...Tune the comm1 radio to the ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service) frequency, at

Kansas City International the ATIS frequency is 128.35.

The recorded ATIS message gives various weather details….. <<

Nothing happens … done it many of times before but….. silence is all I get.

Do I perhaps need to join a weather site like Active Sky?  I was going to do it anyway later when I am more familiar with the all system.

Without using VOXatc.

If you tune ATIS ... do you get ATIS info ?

The frequencies in the VOXatc tutor manual (flights) may be different that your FSX scenery data.

Check your FSX (P3D) Map view and those are the frequencies that will work ... for ATIS, Ground and ILS  etc.

I checked my VOXatc window at KMCI

Message said to dial ATIS freq 126.625 so in my Learjet I dialed 126.63 ... all ok.

Some aircraft cannot dial 3 digits past the decimal. So, I had to use 126.63 in this case.

Maz,

"I never get ATIS information at the departure airport’, it always jumps straight to clearance."

I did a video which shows the VOXatc ATIS window ....

Just wondering if you ever see that VOXatc window?

I shall try without VOXatc but it is all very peculiar because my AviaSoft EFB gives me the same frequencies so they should be right.

Do you normally get ATIS immediately after having enabled VOX before the 3 options?

1)   Request Taxy for Local

2)   Request taxy for circuit

3)   Radio Check?

For instance I am currently at LIRP (Pisa Italy) departing for EGKK (Gatwick UK)

If I set Com 1 to 122.1 or 119.1 for WX, I get: TUNE TO 121.600

No Atis

When I tune as requested I get the old three options….  NO ATI AT ALL!

Edit:

Ok,

Now you have provided your departure airport LIRP I could do some checking:

LIRP has no ATIS frequency.

If you do the VOXatc tutor flight ... does ATIS work?

"If I set Com 1 to 122.1 or 119.1 for WX, I get: TUNE TO 121.600"

LIRP: Tower freq 122.1 and 119.1

LIRP Ground freq 121.6

LIRP ATIS freq : NONE

Hi there!  So sorry for my silence but I had family health problems that kept me away for a while.

Haha so that's it ! ?   :o …..   Pisa does not have ATIS !   .. Thanks for that I never would have guest it..

I'll have to check about Vox tutor .. I don't even know where to find it at present.

tonight I'll give it another try…. I really would like to train on Vox before jumping into IVAO or indeed Virtual Airlines ….
