UTX USA out for P3D

This is great if you don't want to spend oodles on worldwide stuff.

30 bucks for P3D/FSX combo, I guess there's a 50% off coupon if you had the version 1.4 as well!

Will it work with FTX global?Because I'm getting tired of seeing FTX globals repeating ground textures

This is about roads, coastslines, railways, lakes and some lanclass.

For not having repeating textures you will need a landclass package.

I've been testing both the FSX and P3D versions and they are exceptional. In P3D I have FTX Global, FSGlobal and Vector and UTXP3D makes a noticeable difference in the US and so far, I have found no issues with Vector.

Be aware - turning UP moving road traffic can cause a noticeable performance hit. You have two settings in UTX (RD1 & RD2) which essentially give you moving traffic on fwys (RD1) or other roads (RD2). I had my road traffic at 10% and it pushed the system.

Just activate or deactivate the areas and see how it affects your system. The default is to have RD1 active and RD2 inactive.

What's the difference between UTX and FTX Vector? Is it better to have both or do they conflict with each other?

I just want to be sure.  You are using the new UTX USA for P3D 2.4 AND Global Vector 1.2 with no problems between the two?  I first ran across this thread this morning and am qualified for the 50 percent discount on UTX USA.  I have Global Vector 1.2 installed in my P3D 2.4 and it just seemed to me there would be some conflicts but on the other hand I am certainly no expert when it comes to these issues.

Yes.  No problems at all. As long as you have UTX *ABOVE* Vector in the scenery library (UTX install will default to this) it will override Vector in areas that UTX covers and Vector will continue to function in areas not covered by UTX.

Can anyone who has both Vector and UTX USA comment on which they find better?  I'm debating a purchase of one or the other.  I realize with Global I get worldwide coverage, but thoughts on how it looks in the US?

Thanks Vic,

That all makes sense.  So it is your opinion that UTX P3D is better than Vector 1.2 when it comes to the USA?

If that is the case then I will order UTX today.

I have FTX Global and just installed UTX v 2. Vector is not installed. I very much like UTX as the roads, coastlines, etc. are well represented.

They do run OK without any real issues.

One negative thing I have noticed, is that the underlying Global city textures do not match up with the UTX. So, for instance, Global city textures will have streets running diagonally, while the UTX roads will run north, south, east, and west. Both the Global streets and UTX streets appear and does not look well.

Flying close to the ground, this is very noticeable.

Flying 4 or 5 thousand feet AGL, it is much better.
