Hi Vernon,

Try out the new AVSIM CTD Guide, Version 2.0 just released today. There are a lot of things you can do after a crash. One is looking at your Event Viewer. Are there other problems being reported about your computer system? Perhaps those problems are causing the FSX crash.

There is no known solution to unknown crashes. There is no code in the AppCrashView Report that tells me or someone else exactly what caused your crash. Looking at your report though, it appears your installation of FSX/Acceleration is perfect. Everything looks up to date and proper.

What were you doing when FSX crashed? Where did it crash? At startup, while loading? During a flight? The same flight? The same location? If it was during a flight, what aircraft were you using and where were you flying to?

In the first section of the AVSIM CTD Guide (What to do after a crash), there's one recommendation where you can set up Process Monitor just to watch FSX. When it crashes, what does it say was loading? Lots of other recommendations too.

I hope you understand we cannot help you for unknown crashes. Now, if you posted you have all of your fsx/display driver settings set to max, any addon textures, like REX4 set to max, ASN settings set to max, several tweaks in the FSX.cfg, and your overclocked your system to 5.0GHz, then I might be able to provide some logical recommendation. But then, those are all in the AVSIM CTD Guide already.

Hope you can get it fix soon without too much investigating.

Best regards,

Yehh good one jim i downloaded it last night. I'll have a look through it later :)

These crashes started a few weeks after updating my GPU nvidia gtx780 to the latest driver 344.11

I have gone back to my old driver and see if the crash continues also i have noticed a difference in performance since going back to my old driver. Now i'm worried i'll get a KERNELBASE.DLL ctd as my GPU driver isn't upto date? Is this the case?

If i continue to get unknown crashes i'll reinstall the 737ngx as this was also the last thing i installed a few weeks before the crash!

A little bit more about the crash - twice its happened at round about the same place when descending into EGPH ( i have EGPH ukscenery) the 3rd crash last night was on base leg to EGPH.

I don't think its the scenery as i have had this installed for many months and done many flights and hours of flying around my home airport.

All my settings are optimal nothing like 2048 etc. my OC is at 41ghz!

Vernon,

Do you have an Ai traffic package? If so try setting Ai traffic to 0% and see if you still get the crash at the same place.

I was plagued with crashes at exactly the same place and when I disabled Ai traffic it was okay. Turned out a corrupt aircraft texture in a 3rd party Ai package was responsible. The owner was able to replicate the crash and supplied a new texture which fixed the problem.

The key is to fly the same route that causes the crashes and if it happens at the same place it's related to FSX. If it's random it probably isn't and could be driver related.

Hi ray! I use MTX 5.4C but in the avsim CTD guide it says you'll get NTDLL and stackhash? Or maybe you can get unknown CTD with an addon? I don't know.

What ai traffic where you using? And was it unknown...

My steps are revert back to previous driver and redo the same flight EGCC to EGPH

If not re-install 737 ngx and see if that does it

Hi Vernon,

I also use MTX 5.4c and mine were STACKHASH but if you do get a crash at the same position it could be related to Ai.

By all means try a different driver and persist with that until you get some stability. If crashes continue then try switching to a default aircraft. Only one change at a time of course otherwise you won't know what fixed it.

Thanks ray! No stackhash crashes or NTDLL during flight just these unknown crashes!

If it happens again with the new driver i'll take something else out and redo the flight.

I have seen better performance going back to my older driver!

See the AVSIM CTD Guide for how to locate and open the Event View. You need to go to Administrative Events which show every error in all categories that has happened since you turned on your computer today.

Thanks Ray.

It doesn't have to happen around the time of your crash. If there's something wrong with Windows, that could contribute to the crash.
