November 26, 201411 yr Well, where to start...I guess the beginning, B) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I decided to pick up UTX USA v2.0, and most certainly with use, have had no regrets in doing so. I used the coupon and saved the 50 percent. Ok.. I set up the program and went flying. I had uninstalled all my UTX products when I decided to seek continuity with all my FSX goodies, and purchase FTX Vector. I had always missed the much greater detail (like road shoulders, and encasements, etc) that the UTX products gave to the sim...but thought that Vector would be generally the better all-round solution. That opinion has changed.... So, here I was with the new UTX USA v2.0 supplying once more all that I missed...but with the fabulous benefit of a superior (over FSX Global and Vector) lighting system. Much more detail, (ground illumination beneath the light) tons of customization to get it to just HOW YOU want it displayed....blah, blah... The new lighting system ROCKS, and looks simply fabulous! So...I thought to go to the Flight1 forums, and lurk around...and BOY...AM I GLAD THAT I DID!!! What did I find? Well...that this new stand-alone lighting system is just that....stand-alone...and upon you opening the program....and while in VALIDATING phase, it parses the UTX products that you have installed in FSX..and acts upon them all. Yes, all your legacy UTX products that you own...are now enhanced by the new stand alone, and new road lighting system. H.S.! I turned on my back-up drives and the first thing I did, was reinstall UTX Canada v1.0. The result? Yeppers.....all the new lighting system is there, the ton's better road treatments and MORE roads for that matter, much better coastlines, SAND BEACHES ARE BACK Hooray!...are there over Vector 1.20....and this guy is happy dancing like there is no tomorrow! I will wait for UTX Canada v2.0 as well as all the other UTX products that I own. So...here I am, reinstalling my UTX legacy products to run over Vector 1.20, and then where ever there is no UTX products to enhance the view....Vector 1.20 will be there to take up the slack. So...I recommend a UTX(whatever)/Vector 1.20 solution...that will give you the best take-up for FSX. UTX shorelines, roadways, road shoulders, encasement's, all the other goodies not supplied by the FTX Vector product, is there now...and boy...does FSX look fantastic once more along the coasts.....well...everywhere! Ok...the next UTX legacy product to hit the re-install is one of my favorite places...the Caribbean. Post Edit: Just wanted also to mention that I have UTX installed over both FSX Global (latest) and Vector (latest), and there are no crashes, or conflicts. It all works like a charm. I also checked whether Vector 1.20 works as before in a non-UTX covered area...and yes...just as before....all elements are there, as well as FSX Global Vector lights. I'm also going to re-install UTX Europe, and see how it interacts (looks overall) with my OpenLC Europe as well. I expect to see superior results, shortly! Post Edit 2: I also recommend that you visit Flight1.com, and re-download all your legacy UTX products...to be assured that you are going to re-install the latest and greatest version of each product. That saves time with upgrades from your back-ups. Oh...and you DO HAVE all your license keys stashed away for each product and password? You will need 'em.... Make sure that all night lighting in each LEGACY UTX is turned off, as you are now going to use the V2.0 night lighting stand alone... See ya....
November 26, 201411 yr No conflicts with Europe...looks great! Back to flying... Great info Mitch - thanks for sharing Rich Sennett
November 26, 201411 yr I have UTX installed over both FSX Global (latest) and Vector (latest) Thank you for posting this information - it's greatly appreciated. I have the same setup and am curious - do you use the FTX Day and FTX Night utilities? Or do you only manage the lighting via UTX? Thank you in advance, Stevan Stevan Makarevich
November 26, 201411 yr UTX products cause stutters on my system during day time. A fact I found out recently by accidentally turning them off. I have not upgraded to UTX USA 2.0 yet. Vu Pham i7-13700K 5.2 GHz OC, 64 GB RAM, RTX5090, SSD for Sim, SSD for system. MSFS2020, XP-12, DCS
November 26, 201411 yr Author Thank you for posting this information - it's greatly appreciated. I have the same setup and am curious - do you use the FTX Day and FTX Night utilities? Or do you only manage the lighting via UTX? Thank you in advance, Stevan I am only using the new UTX v2.0 lighting system that came with UTX USA v2.0. It is now running the show across all my UTX products installed. It all works like a charm. I have now installed all my UTX...and am loving it.... For those that have OpenLC Europe, remember, that in the UTX v1.c (from Flight1 download page) once installed, you can turn off all the UTX Landclass, if you prefer to have only OpenLC Europe run the show. I have both running, and it looks fantastic! Most happy to have purchased UTX USA v2.0 for sure....FSX looks once more, like I always loved it....UTX'ized.... Great info Mitch - thanks for sharing You're most welcome, Rich. Man..am I glad that I decided to buy v.2.0....wow.... In after-view...this was a serious, 'no-brainer'...even if you don't get the update discount. A great product....looks amazing, day or night.... Just a tip...there are thousands of files installed over these products...and you really need to do a defrag run after you install every UTX product you own..... Seriously....or or there will be system induced stutter....in FSX by not having cleaned up your hard drive.
November 26, 201411 yr "I have both running" Not sure thats accurate - I would think one is over riding the other but not positive Rich Sennett
November 26, 201411 yr Author "I have both running" Not sure thats accurate - I would think one is over riding the other but not positive I have not turned off any of the Landclass within UTX Europe v1c and have had no issues. I wonder if each landclass has an effect, and so can co-exist. Whatever one does not address, the other might? Don't know...but it is so easy to turn off the UTX varieties...and stay only under the Landclass of OpenLC. That is what is so great about revisiting and re-installing my bucket-load of UTX products....you can do what you need to, to get it all up and running. Rich...FSX looks fabulous...and am having a blast-fest.... I now want to go back out to the Canadian province of Nova Scotia...and see some of the great sandy beaches...that have been missing..... Good stuff!
November 26, 201411 yr They can co-exist but what is positioned above in the scenery library has complete control and anything under is not being used at all but not sure - have fun brother and happy thanksgiving Rich Sennett

After I post this, I'll just bring up the UTX Europe v1c mask...and disable the land class section. See what that does, how it looks, and then enable it again, and do fly-overs of my favorite places, and see how THAT looks in regard. Happy Thanksgiving, Rich....I can already taste the turkey....come on, Thursday...c'mon.... Thank you for this informative post. Much appreciated (: Quite welcome, Robert, still finishing up my UTX legacy FSX installs...and then will do the big defrag, and then...well...go out and fly some... Ses

I do not have USA 1.4 installed becuase I could not enable roads without a significant drop in fps. Even at 5% it was bad. The lighting was also a poor performer. If you can confirm that your fps are not affected by enabling roads and the new lighting system, I'll place the order. Can you please post some pics of NYC & Tampa with the new UTX lighting. Thanks! Can you please post some pics of NYC & Tampa with the new UTX lighting. Thanks! Jose Jose, are you ready for this?....(drum roll) Only 2-3 FPS less on average, at all my normal settings, but with UTX fully loaded out in play. Simply wonderful, and no visual impact for animation. To: Rich...."Hey Rich...getting back to ya....and guess what...the best of both worlds. If you go to the LandClass section of UTX Europe, and read the info box...it will state that the UTX landclass layers will 'layer' in between any other landclass product you have, and not cause it/them to not run, even though it is above it. I have been running with it all afternoon...and it is spectacular. UTX Europe adds 20 times (or better) the road system that Vector 1.20 does...and all of the UTX v2.0 light system works on each roadway. Germany is spectacular to fly over now...no more 'grey thin ribbons' for roads. I am so glad I thought to reload them all.....it was so totally worth it! So, you do need to keep the UTX (recommended) landclass section alive to look right in any of your UTX products...and does it? Well, you can't see the ear-to-ear smile upon my face!" Running UTX Europe with OpenLC Europe is a win-win.... Jose, I'll post that picture tomorrow, for today, I have run out of time. If anybody else has this....perhaps they could snap what you request for an earlier view. No mater, though...I will snap tomorrow. Jose...this seriously, even at full price, is a no-brainer. My UTX products, are now default in FSX. Will be in P3D when they come....I forgot how good they looked! Cheers, Jose and Rich!

Hi Mitch - UTX V2 US is for P3D also but you must know that - thanks for the heads up - one thing the only thing that is bugging me is as you fly along the lights turn on as you approach meaning the distance lights are not on until you keep flying into an area you seeing this - thanks Rich Sennett
