Around the world in an old Tupolev

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow simmers,

we all have our imaginations about how to fly. Imagine you "bought" an old Tu-134, choose your favourite livery, converted the interiour into a kind of aereal trailer and away! you fly, fleeing the middle European winter. Of course a Tu-134 has its preferences, so the journey will go east at first.

The first leg: Leipzig EDDP - Budapest LHBP. Getting familiar with the plane.

Second leg: Budapest LHBP - Kharkiv UKHH (obviously, there is no up-to-date scenery for Kharkiv with the new terminal, but the old one is the nicer).

Al, thank you. Here comes more: The third leg - Kharkiv UKHH to Sochi URSS.

Still the biggest question: What does the Stuardess actually mean? (And do I really have a Stuardess in my private "trailer" plane?) Meanwhile I can cope with the cabin being kholodno ("too cold"), but... Stuardesa kak prinzesa!

And what the heck means that "nyet kontrol AG" light?

Anyway, here are some impressions from this flight:

Will they (in the background) ever fly anymore?

Landing Sochi Rwy 02:

Finally the Caucasus! My favourite holiday region, as it is in the real life.

I have no idea what any of those things mean, but I did not get to see much of Uposrabblenyk when it aired.

I miss TU154M in FSX ..., spent so many happy hours using FS9 and Project Tupolev TU154M

Nice, Harald!

I know it's just me, but the particular shade of green used on Russian panels always reminds me of a hospital latrine.

I suppose it is a calming colour...  ^_^

I suppose it is a calming colour...

Thanks guys.

Indeed, I heard that Soviet science proved this colour to be particular calming. Your comparison to a hospital latrine, WingZ, may fit better to the more blueish colour of the panel of the later Il-86, doesnt't it?

However, many things in the Soviet Union were painted this colour - or in a nice siena, as it's shown here (19:47):

Have fun!

Not sure what we're looking at, there Harald? Seems to involve the sale of a cow...

I am no connoisseur on the subject of latrines I confess, but it always occurs to me that only things that are truly horrible come in the form of a sugar-coated pill.

It follows that, to require a calming colour, you must be in a state of extreme distress!

I hope the Tupolev does not induce this in your round-the-world endeavour...

It's a (Soviet-)Georgian Aviators' comedy film... And since you see cows almost everywhere in Georgia,

why not in the air?

The Tu-134 is undoubtedly one of the more demanding airplanes from those I flew so far, but not a distress but a joy to fly. But now that the interiour colour is how it is, I can live with it quite well and it gives nice screenshots.

From the next leg Sochi URSS - Tbilisi UGTB (the northern route):

Passing the highest peak of Europa:

... and later on the Mt. Mkinvartsveri, the easternmost 5,000 m peak of the Caucasus, overlooking the Terek (Tergi) valley)

Approaching Tbilisi

What a welcome - like in the old times:

Maybe I will make a break here to have some flights with the Mi-2 or some GA plane. I hope you enjoyed the pictures so far. See you as soon I continue my world flight!

Regards,

Harald

I'm getting my old smoker ready for Prestwick …I do hope I have a long tow bar when it gets AES'sed.  :Worried:

Thank you Ed!

Yes and I hope that the fuel pump will soon take its place properly below the wing (these are different things but meaning the same in the end)

after I come back to AESed places - I think of Makhachkala as my next aim. See you somewhere in the East!

- There is some noise about eight years of AES, but actually AES is not as important anymore for me as it used to be. It may be that the credit pack I bought yesterday was my last one. -
