AI Traffic

Recommended Posts

I know this comes up from time to time, but I was wondering what the most up-to-date AI traffic offerings are that work with P3d. I have "My Traffic 2013" but just wondering if there is something 'newer' and better.

### AI is a compilation of various freeware AI aircraft and flightplans. It is not endorsed by the creators of the freeware, and as such is pirated software. Too bad, because it is a nice package and it will save you 100s of hours of compiling all the stuff for yourself.

### AI contains products developed by others who have indicated they do not want their creation distributed without their permission.  More like a violation of a EULA than piracy - http://www.yourdictionary.com/software-piracy. Let's don't discuss ICE any further here or else we will have to lock the topic.

There is no AI program specifically made for P3DV2 but AI programs, like yours and MyTrafficX can be ported over to work well in P3D.

Be cautious of the World of AI packages. They may contain FS9 format flight plans which will cause your FSX AI to not show up. They need to be converted to FSX format. Does anyone know if this holds true for P3Dv2?

It's the same for P3Dv2.

It takes just a few minutes with a freeware called "Air Traffic Manager" to convert 100s of flightplans from FS9 format to FSX (=P3Dv1/+2) format.

The only thing one should be cautious about is a few outdated models from FS8 that will make P3Dv1+2 crash.

If I'm not mistaken, the Air Traffic Manager is simply to improve FPS by optimizing already installed AI Traffic. Or do I have the wrong problem or which one are you referring to?

Sorry, my mistake. The program is called AI Flight Planner, and found here: http://stuff4fs.com/open.asp?Folder=AIFP&JS=TRUE

Just Flight said several months ago that they would release a P3Dv2 installer for their "Traffic 360" programme. But nothing has appeared yet.

If you are looking to buy a traffic program for P3D vs 2.xx, I would try to get MyTraffic X 5.4b. I used 5.4c and P3D would crash at random. I went back to 5.4b and P3D seems to be more stable. I have no idea why, but that appears to be the result. I am not familiar with Traffic 360...sorry.
