HI all,

I'm ready to pull the trigger on the below system but have read that Nvidia is coming out with an 8gb version for the GTX 980. Is it worth waiting for? Will more than 4gb make a difference? Also any suggestions for improvement to the below system would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using P3D.

Thanks!

I don't see any mention of your monitor.

An 8GB card would be worth waiting for if you're planning on running P3D on a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) monitor or on a 3+ monitor array.  P3D uses DX11 and can make use of a lot more of the GPU's resources, and that kind of memory could be useful at high AA/AF settings on a large-format display system.

Thanks Bob,

Yes I currently run a 3 monitor setup but may switch to the curved LG or Dell 34" (3440 by 1440) monitors when they come out.

Any idea when the 8gb version will be coming out?

Industry rumor mill suggests they should start appearing in retail channels this month or next.

Cheers
