2014/12/07 - Update of PrecipitFX v1.2 for FSX & P3D

We are glad to release our second update for PrecipitFX. Since the release of PrecipitFX, we have received numerous feedbacks from our customers, which helped us dress a list of the most pressing issues which needed to be assessed.

The most popular request was to make PrecipitFX available for Prepar3D. With this in mind, and with the 777 Immersion in its last stage of development, we decided to take our existing effects and enhance them to take better advantage of the performance in Prepar3D. Therefore, we are glad to announce the release of an update that would allow pilots to install PrecipitFX rain and snow textures, vortices and contrails for Prepar3D.

We are continuously working on our product to make it the most amazing effects package for the Flight Simulator community. Therefore, if you have any feedback on PrecipitFX, please don’t hesitate to let us know!

What is included in the update?

  • PrecipitFX rain and snow textures for Prepar3D
  • PrecipitFX vortices for Prepar3D
  • PrecipitFX contrails for Prepar3D

Coming soon for Prepar3D…

Engine jet wash effects under rain and snow

Wheels effects under rain and snow

Smoke on hard braking

How do I get it?

If you have a previous version of PrecipitFX, running the installer will automatically update you to v1.2.

If you don't have a previous version installed, simply run the installer you downloaded from the FSFX Packages website.

Just curious what or why there is no Precip Effects for P3D?

Given the continuous improvements which translate into continuous updates on the platform, some bugs slipped in with the way visual effects are displayed in Prepar3D. This prevents us from fully porting PrecipitFX to Prepar3D for now. We have no idea when Lockheed Martin will fix these issues, but again, we are just waiting for these fix to start working on those effects.

Nice one....reaching for my wallet as I'm typing this!!

MSFS & XP11 - Aviatek G1000 Complex Desktop Trainer - Fulcrum One Yoke - TPR Rudder Pedals - VF TQ6 Throttle - LG 55" OLED Display

I gather no point in updating if I only have FSX installed... correct?

We did some modifications to the install utility, but the effects are unchanged in FSX so no need to upgrade if you only use this platform.

Hello Keven

Any chance you can show or explain a bit on the difference of .

Precipitation effects  and Rain/Snow textures.

What would I be missing without the Precipitation effects.

Great to see you have a start for P3D.

Thank you

Hi,

Rain and Snow texture will replace what falls out of the sky

Precipitation effects are engine blasts, wheels spray

We are glad to release our second update for PrecipitFX.

Hi Keven, I installed the P3D version and since it seems it will be updated (I assume soon), will the fact that my account only shows 1 activation remaining present a problem?
