Hello all. I'm working on finishing my sim pit for FSX. I found the GoFlight  GF-RP48 push button rotary module, but cannot seem to find a whole lot of info on it. First thing I need to know is if it connects using USB2.0. Second I need to know if it is fairly straight forward mapping it with FSUIPC. Third I need to know if I can use this for knobs in the cockpit like the OBS and Heading Bug and things like that. I hope somebody here owns one and can help me make a more informed decision. I am still pretty new to flight sims and computers, so a descriptive answer is appreciated. Thank you.

Yes the RP48 can do OBS and Heading Bug and more and will connect to USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 as the are compatible with lower specs.  FSUIPC will work in many cases but not all.

Unit: http://www.goflightinc.com/collections/modules/products/gf-rp48-push-button-rotary

Manual:

Some things you need to know:

1.  It "may" not work with every aircraft you have when using GFConfig and/or FSUIPC

2.  GFConfig is the easiest approach -- this is GoFlight's driver/configuration software here: http://www.goflightinc.com/pages/support

3.  Their forums are here: http://goflight.vanillaforums.com/categories/tech-support

4.  If GFConfig doesn't handle what you need for each aircraft (usually save a GFConfig *.cfg for each aircraft I use), then FSUIPC might be able to help

5.  If FSUIPC can't get it done, then this tool (GoFlight Interface Tool) works well: http://www.pollypot-software.org.uk/goflight-interface-tool.html - if it works for you consider donating to further development.

Cheers, Rob.

Thank you for your reply. It is ordered and should be here in a few days. I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this piece of equipment?

Hi Rob, do you know which rotary button they use?

Would this be a good alternative to the Saitek  Pro Flight Multi Panel?
