FSX: Steam Edition for Take-Off on December 18

LOL And the politically correct twist is just unfolding now with the latest post above this one! LOL

This thread has the makings of a classic. Happy to be part of it, even if it's just a cameo appearance.

Nothing about political correctness, Efrain. It's just what I believe.

Now then... Back to the topic. I agree with someone else in the thread earlier on. The Steam page for the SE is still not up yet, which is strange because it's coming out in 2 days and most games have the pages up weeks or months before the games even come out (Like GTA 5, for example).

It is a generation gap thing. I agree not kosher but some of the older boys grew up different.

I am curious the launch price as well but I bet it won't be known until launch on 18-Dec.....hopefully under $50

I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

Beware that disk copies of FSX seem to have pulled from the market.  Amazon has "marketers" selling available copies for $150+ (this is no hypebole)!  So secure your copy, don't lose it or its key.

My Deluxe edition, purchased when it first launched in 2006 and later the acceleration expansion have now earned of a place of honor in my software disk collection.

Edit: Wow...the asking price is now $199

Okay, that is... extremely weird. Also, all the sellers are shipping from Asia. Did the rest of the world suddenly lose their copies?

At least it's available here: http://www.fspilotshop.com/flight-simulator-fsx-gold-edition-p-1792.html for an average $50.

Hi Elaine! Nice to meetcha...

Just as an aside, about ten or eleven years ago we had a very active and prolific woman here at AVSIM. As it turned out though, this woman was actually a guy who finally admitted to being a cross-dresser. He would "suit up" in frilly stuff before posting and posing on-line... :LMAO:

It was a real shame to loose "him" though, as "he" really was a very talented and prolific livery artist!

I forgot about that one. The most recent one I always think of is the one who used an avatar of some movie star, claimed they were from England or something, started posting like crazy, etc. Then in the end, after the bann, this "lady" ended up being a male chiropractor from the midwest, who coincidentally still posts on the FSDT forum as Hnla, but sometimes changes his avatar and username to Brittany and uses a pic of some lady. After I discovered that he was the same guy that was posting here and had gotten banned, I called him out on it and he admitted he was the same person. He was easy to catch due to his posting style, grammer, and the way he structured his sentences.

Since Poppet says she is from Ireland I am sure the mods have already checked her IP to verify that's the case and is legit.

I still don't understand why some guys like to make up user id's and claim to be women. I feel bad for any of the real women who post here or join because a lot of us get suspicious right off the bat. The only trend that seems to hold true is that the real ladies don't post very often while the lady men post very often, change their usernames, avatars and signatures frequently.

The one to have claimed to be deceased was the worst in my book.

I'm confused.. what has anyone's orientation have to do with forum postings? I was sure that the days of bigotry had ong passed?

Anyhow, this cross dressing story made me remember... Many years ago, I think during FS2002, someone released a naked man & naked woman that you could fly! It really brought a chuckle to me, when I was flying the guy & I dropped the undercarridge & saw what actually dropped.

Yup, this hobby of our is getting 'bigger or larger'?

That photo showing me as 'Olivia' thankfully was taken back in the days pre-internet and with an analogue camera, unable to connect to any server or any fancy 'cloud' or anything.

GCHQ, NSA, FAA and AAAAA (= American Association Against Acronym Abuse) will never find out about it!
