I would of thought that how most people arrive on this site, or is there like a build up to it. Maybe like a thread that states new arrival in the pipeline.

Literally chuckled on this one... lol

Elaine, on behalf of us men here, I do appologize for the rudeness. Some of us guys/kids get very upset about small things.

Play nice now. Please do not tell me which forums I should go to, if you do not agree with what I debate on. I do not support Steam, I do not play FSX, & therefore I will not be playing with FSX-Steam. If you are a moderator & ask me to leave this forum, I will, otherwise, debate or chat, or ignore!

That's fine, do as you choose, I am not into Basket Weaving either and I certainly don't spend any time on Basket Weaving Forums. So if you don't use FSX and don't want to use FSX Steam then this seems to me like no value in someones time being on here.....but that is your choice my friend. Remember this is a Community and we are all guests on AVSIM so making negative comments on something you don't use in the first place is your choice with how you spend your time. But you are welcome to stay

I don't have that much time in my day to be on P3D threads when I don't use that, or the Basket Weaving forums either for that matter....

Cheers

I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

With quotes like this it is no wonder why the community never manages to grow together and help the grene itself.  And this is just FSX internally, cant imagine what would happen if someone suggeted to combine the X-Plane and FSX Forums

Is it not obvious that any supplier or distributor had their own forum for the products they market?

Prepar3d has their own, A2A has theirs. It is far easier, when you have a problem to go to the distributors forum to get answers. Have a look at Steams forums.. You will even see Flight there.

Is it so hard to belief that a woman has an interest in planes and flight siming, Yes I will agree I don't have the expertise that some of yous have in flying and dept of systems.

But I am just as excited as everyone else about the release of any new product.

If you are who you say you are, that is fine. I don't care what gender a person is. But if you had been around the last couple of years, you would understand why some of us are skeptical. There has been many, and I mean many banned users taken on a female persona, and quite frankly, it is difficult to tell now if someone is genuine or taken on a false identity. So please don't take offence. Time will prove otherwise.

We have even had one user claim to be deceased, then turns up on a developer forum pretending to be his brother. Internet has become a 600ib gorilla

But AVSIM doesn't make any Flight SImulators. So by this logic AVSIM is for Microsoft Flight Simulator or Lockheeds P3D or Laminars X-Plane but anyone that purchases FSX Steam Edition is not welcome in AVSIM???

This is a Flight Simulation forum and even FSX Steam Edition will be as much a Flight Simulator as any other. What it comes down to is a persons choice as to which Flight Simulator works best for them. If that be P3D then that is best for you, or X-Plane or FSX or the upcoming FSX Steam Edition.

If P3D is best for you then no point on telling someone who prefers something else it is wrong and go somewhere else.......like I said it comes down to what works best for you and support each other in getting their FLight Sim working at its best, regardless of where they got it.

X Plane 10 Steam Addition doesn't have it's own forum and neither should FSX Steam Addition.

ytzpilot, I think you are really a married woman who used to go by the name Q_Poppet.  It was the beer in your avatar that gave it away!

On a serious note, I actually think this thread is useful,  because it has managed to answer some questions about what to expect from the DTG version of FSX that I was wondering about.

I am actually this guy:

Which means I spend way too much time dealing with Married Woman in my job hence the reason why I drink beer

I agree, I intend in giving it three days after launch to see if it will be of value to me to purchase it. I prefer Digital Copies of everything so this is the reason I prefer Steam over DVD's

So far, all new members that I've seen make a handful of posts as soon as they register were banned members who registered again, so I hope you understand why I felt suspicious of you. I'm glad you're not a banned member after all.

Steam must have their own thread for FSX-Steam, seeing it's their product. Keep it separate from us. They have forums for all their products.

You're acting as if FSX on Steam is the devil's work. Aside from the reworked multiplayer and the few bug fixes, it's going to be the same product. I don't understand your problem with it.

No probs at all Wobbie.

I hear you Badfinger and appreciate what your saying

I have been checking Steam everyday for some kind of a "FSX IS coming"  Advertisement like lots of other releases, but nothing.  Will it just arrive for purchase on the 18'th

What happens is people get into P3D and that works best for them and think everyone else should do the same. They can develop a P3D elitist view on these forums and create a NIMBY attitude to ones who haven't jumped the band wagon.

My reasons for not using P3D anymore are...

I couldn't get PMDG NGX to work on it.

Takes too much work to get other Third Party to work on it

When I re-installed my WIndows I couldn't get my licence of P3D to re-install

LM Customer Service to sort out the licencing issue was painful at best

So I abandoned P3D all together now

But it is not cool to hear P3D people put down FSX people on these forums, and now the upcoming Steam Edition as well

Agreed. Prepar3D 2.4 is my main simulator and I really enjoy it, but it has too many bugs and I'm not too hopeful for more 2.x releases. FSX is still an amazing piece of software (especially when you stop and try to think what kind of work has gone behind it), and I continue to use it regularly because it provides me with a very stable experience. Plus there are the missions that I enjoy doing from time to time, and I the little time I played multiplayer was very fun (main reason I am excited for FSX on Steam).

Where does one get that DTG is developing a new flight simulator?  To paraphrase the only quote I can find, it is something like 'will be bringing original titles based on Microsoft flight (small f) technology.'  The way it is phrased made me immediately think that they meant that they are more likely to be making some add on content, more than that they are going to make a brand new flight simulation engine.  They also don't seem to be very big.  I think developing a comprehensive and realistic flight simulator from scratch is something that takes dozens upon dozens of programmers.  If you look at the back of one of the DCS manuals, the design credits go on for 3 pages.

Topic is now being monitored by AVSIM staff... In other words, the credits are starting to scroll up on this drama. Fun while it lasted. Thanks for the laughs, guys and gals.
