Away For a While

Recommended Posts

Hi

Have not touched FS9 for a couple of years and I am now just getting her set up again.

New machine ;-)

Like to update a few of my old programs.

Have looked at a few weather programs and would like a few users opinions of what they think is the best.

Cheers

I use Active Sky Evolution and its a decent addon. I would recommend the addons below as they have helped me make my FS9 look the best its ever been..

My Texture sets are a mix of

Real Environment Pro V2 with Dutch Rural Landscape enabled

Zinerteks Ultimate Water,

Zinerteks Night Environment 2010

Zinerteks World Environment 2012 (Clouds Primarily)

(You can also use the freeware High definition Environment (HDE V2) Clouds which are freeware)

Zinerteks Ultimate Airport Environment

Zinerteks Natural Tree Environment FS2004

Beetleprints Experience X for 3d Night Lighting (at Sparse or Normal Autogen levels)

TaxiSigns HD by Flightsim tools

Active Sky Evolution for Real Weather (Can cause a pause when loading new weather station data)

Scenery Config Mgr (Really helps will adding/managing scenery)

My setup is

Intel i7 @ 2.8ghz

8gb Ram

2 x 500gb HD

Nvdia GTX 550ti

Matrox Triplehead to Go (3 x 24" Dell monitors + 1 19")

I think the ideal combination is:

1. FSUIPC registered version. Will give you much more subtle layering, visibility options etc.

2. Active Sky Evolution

3. REX for general visual environment, especially sunrise, sunset, horizons etc.

4. HDE2 for outstanding cloud textures

The combination of those four will give you optimum results for FS9 that will keep you happy for many hundreds of hours
