Nvidia Inspector - Yes or No?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I got a new Graphiccard namely the Geforce GTX 970. This card is really good, but I use it without any changes on the system. Would you recommend using NI, and if so, is it only for better quality or also for better performance. What settings in NI would you recommend?

Is it possible to find settings in NI which could help to avoid OOMs?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the answer!

Unfortunatly I get OOMs from time to time. With v2.3 this was fixed, with v2.4 it came again :-(

What would you change in the windows setup to avoid OOMs???

NI has no effect in P3D and I have never had an OOM in P3D since it released. Fix your Windows Setup :)

Not exactly correct. It has some effect, just not as pronounced as FSX. Using SGSS is one function that works. The SLI functions work somewhat.

If you get a lot of OOM's you really need to look closely at your settings. Certain payware a/c will use up the VAS and can make OOM's likely.

Just as an example, if I fly from KBUR to KSFO in heavy weather, I will get an OOM every time with certain a/c and no OOM with others. It really depends on add ons, settings, etc. If you monitor your VAS usage you might be able to tell what areas are causing you problems.

NV Inspector won't affect OOM one way or another.

NI with SGSS 4x is essential for me.

What exactly does SGSS do?

Murders performance and barely looks any better!

4x SGSS certainly affects framerates, but it also reduces texture shimmering quite a bit in P3D.

Also reduces the jagged lines on edges and runway markings. It looks much better than without but there is a  performance hit.
