My Traffic X

Recommended Posts

I have bought a new computer for my son and am trying to install his games, etc. so that it is ready for him when he opens it on Christmas morning.  I have already installed FSX Deluxe Edition and then moved on to installing My Traffic X (which I bought in December 2010).  However, I can't find a link to download it.  I have the email from Sim Pilot store from when I purchased, but the link in the email is broken.  When I searched for My Traffic X, I only get results for My Traffic 2013.  Is there any way I can access the product that I paid for?  I would assume I need the serial number for the product (which I have in my email), I just can't find a way to download it.  Any ideas?  Can I transfer the file from his old computer to the new one without causing any problems or breaks in how FSX runs?  Any help would be appreciated.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just go to the fspilotstore and logon (you set up an account when you purchased the product).  Once logged in, just go to your orders and the download will be there.  I would stay away from the link in the e-mail.

Firehawk44 and MisterA, thanks so much for taking the time to help.  I'm still having issues, though, and I hope you wouldn't mind a few more questions.

The email for my purchase is from "simpilot.com - The Avsim Store".  However, when I go to simpilot.com, I'm directed to this website (avsim.forum.net). I'm guessing that simpilot.com and avsim are related somehow?  If so, how do I access purchased downloads?

I've also tried fspilotstore and it didn't have a record of my email address when I tried to login.  (Which, I guess would be the case if I purchased it from simpilot.com.)  My apologies, I'm not familiar with all of the different FSX websites and how they are connected.

I do have MyTrafficX on an external hard drive -- is it possible to transfer all of those files to the new computer and have it work the way it should?  I know FSX can be so touchy and I don't want to do anything that will cause it to crash or interfere with its performance.  Again, I do have the email with the serial code for installation, but I just can't find the proper site to access my purchased download and enter it in.  So, if nothing else, will installing from an external hard drive do the trick?

Thanks in advance for your help -- now that my son has his new computer, he's loving how FSX looks on it, he's very keen to get MyTrafficX installed.

"simpilot.com" does route you to AVSIM. Simpilot used to provide store services for us, but that was many many years ago. All products purchased there would have been transferred to X-Plane.org which took over store services some 5 years ago, Finally we took on our own store service in the spring of 2013. We shut that down however earlier this year and haven't looked back. So, I don't know what to tell you other than you have a very old product that you are trying to upgrade and the only advice I can provide you is to go to x-plane.org and see if they can help you.

Tom, thanks for your reply and for clearing up the confusion for me.  Things must have switched over right after I bought My Traffic in 12/10.  Ugh!  I'll do as you suggested and will hope for the best.  Thanks so much for the help!

Oh, sorry, forgot to add to my previous post...  Do you know if I'd have any luck transferring the MyTrafficX files from my external hard drive to the new computer?  Could this work in place of tracking down my downloaded purchase?

Thanks again!

You would probably be better off posting that in the FSX forum where those that own the product can help. I don't own it so would hesitate to guess.

No, you will have to install it first.
