Installing Reality XP GNS 530 in the Seneca V?

Recommended Posts

I really love the Seneca panel!  Only problem for me is I don't own the XPGNS 430 so I can't take advantage of a nice upgrade!  However I own the XPGNS 530 which might work within the panel (better) and/or a popup gauge.  In fact I saw a photo in the review of the Seneca by AVSIM  showing the GNS 530 in the Seneca.  A long time ago I had some guidance installing this gauge in my newly purchased Piper Cheyenne.  Does anyone know if and how it could be done?  I realize I may have to make some sacrifices, but I am willing to give it a shot even if its just a popup gauge.

Thanks for any help and advice!

I think it would have to be a popup gauge, since the space in the panel does not allow for a GNS530 to fit..

Thanks Bert for your quick reply!

Could you please provide a brief tutorial or reference on how to create the popup?  I would really like to create flghtplans using my XP GNS 530 rather than FSX,  Obviously with your busy schedule there is no rush especially around the holidays!

Thanks again and looking forward to hearing from you!

Try replacing Window01 in the panel.cfg file by:

[Window01]
window_size=0.30, 0.38
position=5
visible=0
ident=10010
zorder=7

gauge00=rxpGNS!GNS530,  0,0,100,100

And add an rxpgns.ini file to the Seneca folder with the following content:

[GNS530]
Popup=10010
AutoPilotMode=2
Radios=1
LinkCdiKey=On
AutoApproach=Off
AutoCourse=On
LinkVor=0
LcdStyle=off
AutoWidth=500
AutoHeight=360
Trainer=
LinkGPS=On

Thanks Bert, that did the trick!  Just did a quick trip from KHQM to KTIW using the GNS530 and all was well.
